As data centers continue to expand, fire protection requirements are evolving just as quickly. In critical “white space” environments—where sensitive IT equipment is housed—NFPA 10 prohibits the use of dry chemical extinguishers, making clean agent solutions essential.

The Amerex HT-Series, using Halotron BrX, delivers the required performance without damaging electronics or causing costly downtime.

🍀 St. Patrick’s Day Fire Safety Reminder 🍀

BE PREPARED- Don’t count on luck this St. Patrick’s Day !

One of the best ways to be prepared is having a working fire extinguisher nearby.

🧯 Make sure you have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen and know where it is.
🧯 Check that it’s fully charged and not expired.
🧯 Ensure everyone in your home or workplace knows how to use it.
🧯 Remember the PASS method:
Pull the pin
Aim at the base of the fire
Squeeze the handle
Sweep side to side

Fire extinguishers can stop a small fire from becoming a big emergency — but only if they’re ready to use.

Don’t rely on luck this St. Patrick’s Day. Be prepared, stay safe, and enjoy the celebration! 🍀

Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms use different sounds to warn you. Knowing the difference can help you act quickly and safely.

👂 What to listen for:
• 3 loud beeps: Possible smoke or fire. Get out and call 9-1-1
• 4 loud beeps: Possible carbon monoxide. Get out and call 9-1-1
• A single chirp every 30–60 seconds: The battery needs to be replaced.
• Persistent chirping: The alarm has reached the end of its lifespan, replace unit.

Make sure everyone in your home knows what each sound means.

🤔 Smoke alarm vs. CO alarm: What's the difference?

Both keep you safe, but they detect different dangers.

🚨Smoke Alarm: Detects smoke from fires, alerting you to danger early to escape to safety.

🚨CO Alarm: Detects carbon monoxide (CO) gas which is colourless, odourless and tasteless, and can be deadly if inhaled.

The Best of Both Worlds: Get a 2-in-1 alarm that detects both smoke and carbon monoxide. Stay safe from both fires AND gas leaks with one device!

Winter storms can create hidden fire and life safety risks. Prevention can make a life-saving difference.

After a heavy snow:
• Clear vents and fuel-burning exhausts to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning
• Make sure hydrants near your home and business are shoveled out
• Shovel pathways and exits so everyone can escape quickly in an emergency
• If you smell gas, leave immediately, and call your local fire department or gas company
