Experience the inner workings of the Bundestag through the International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) program.
The IPS invites well-qualified, motivated young individuals from Canada and beyond to actively shape the democratic future of their country.

Requirements:
✅ Canadian Citizenship
✅ University Degree
✅ Proficient German language skills (min. Level B2)
✅ Age under 30 at scholarship commencement
✅ Interest in political and social context, as well as German history
✅ Socio-political engagement is advantageous

Not able to make it to one of our German Walks but still interested in exploring Germany and Canada’s rich historical ties?🇩🇪🇨🇦

No worries! We’ve partnered with the Toronto Metropolitan University’s Library to bring you a self-guided walking tour of some of Toronto’s most significant German-Canadian historical sites.

With just a few clicks, you can immerse yourself in an interactive experience and discover how Toronto’s German history is hidden in plain sight, woven throughout the city’s streets, buildings, and neighbourhoods.

Using the ECHOES Interactive Sound Walks App, you can choose from a variety of tours:

All tours are available in both German and English, of course!

What a fantastic initiative! 🇨🇦🤝🇩🇪

A big shoutout to both Hamilton Water Polo and SSV Esslingen for making this youth exchange possible and connecting young players across the Atlantic. Young German and Canadian water polo players are currently in Esslingen, Germany, training, competing and building connections that go far beyond the pool!

Projects like this show what sport is all about: respect, teamwork and bringing people together. It’s a wonderful example of international sportsmanship and how the strong friendship between Canada and Germany goes beyond the conference room.

We’re wishing everyone an unforgettable time, exciting matches, and an amazing exchange!

Our Deputy Consul General Barbara de Tschaschell was delighted to attend the championships and witness the remarkable talent, determination, and passion of the world’s top junior squash players.

Congratulations to our lucky Trostpreis winner! 🎉

‘Trostpreis’ is a unique German word meaning a small gift given to someone who loses a game or fails to win a main competition, meant to make them feel better. So after Germanys early exit from the tournament, we thought it would be a great idea to do a ‘Trostpreis-raffle’.

It is the perfect way to wrap up the excitement of an unforgettable tournament, and we’re so grateful we got to share our love for Team Germany with all of you.🏟️
