TNG Community Services Breaking the cycle of poverty and building a stronger, more inclusive Toronto, neighbourhood by neighbourhood. https://tngcommunityto.org/

The Neighbourhood Group (TNG) Community Services is a fusion of Central Neighbourhood House, Neighbourhood Link, and St. Stephen's Community House. With 200+ years of combined history, we address the critical issues affecting low-income people in our community: hunger, homelessness, conflict, unemployment, loneliness, youth violence, mental health, and the successful integration of immigrants.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month đź’š

This month reminds us to prioritize mental well-being and the importance of connection in our lives.

From May 4–10, we also recognize Mental Health Awareness Week in Canada, with the theme: Come Together, Canada. Stronger connections, better mental health.

A simple conversation, a check-in, or a moment of kindness can go a long way. Let’s continue building a more connected and supportive community - this May and always.

This year’s theme, “Ignite Volunteerism,” celebrates the passion, energy, and impact our volunteers bring to the community.

We marked National Volunteer Week with a camping-inspired experience filled with nostalgic camp games, themed activities, and cozy camp-style treats, including baked potatoes as part of dinner!

We’re so grateful for our incredible volunteers. Each received small goodies and certificates as a token of our appreciation. Our programs are made possible through their dedication, time, and care — thank you for everything you do.

This Earth Day, we’re reminded that caring for our planet starts with everyday actions. This year’s theme, Our Power, Our Planet, highlights how small, collective efforts can create real change.

At TNG, we believe in building sustainable habits together - from greening our spaces to reducing waste and rethinking how we use what we have.

As part of this, join us this Saturday, April 25, from 12:00 - 4:00 pm at 349 for a Repair Café in partnership with Repair Café Toronto and St. James Community Corner. Bring one broken household item and learn how to fix it—for free ♻️

Here’s a glimpse of our Winter Appreciation Event ❄️

We recently hosted our Winter Appreciation Event to recognize the incredible team in our Urban Health & Homelessness Department. Peer workers know the impact of this work firsthand - their lived experience brings deep empathy and insight, allowing them to support others with understanding and care.

As mentors and advocates, they play a vital role in connecting people to life-saving services while continuing to build stability and strength in their own journeys.
