Ontario GBV service providers: free training is available!

Through the Resilient Together Project, the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic is supporting organizations across the province to strengthen risk assessment, safety planning, and case management for survivors of gender-based violence.

Whether you're part of the pilot project or looking for a brief consultation to assess your organization's training needs, personalized support is available.

Training opportunities:

- Schedule a 15-minute consultation and orientation to learn about the Risk Identification and Safety Assessment (RISA) Tool and how it can support your work.
- Access customized RISA training through in-person, hybrid, or online sessions designed to meet the unique needs of your agency and staff.

A new chapter for the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic is on the horizon!

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our incoming Executive Director, Dreeni Geer, who will officially join the Clinic on October 19.
Dreeni brings more than 25 years of experience in Canada and internationally in gender-based violence prevention, human rights, legal advocacy, and systems change. Throughout her remarkable career, she has held senior leadership roles across community, academic, governmental and international organizations, always working to advance equality, justice, and support for survivors.

From leading global child rights and social justice initiatives, to developing innovative legal aid programs for refugee women and children, to advancing human rights and gender equality through policy and advocacy, Dreeni's expertise and commitment closely reflect the Clinic's mission and values.

"I am excited to join the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic and look forward to meeting the community, learning from your experiences, and working together towards a safe, just and equitable world for women and gender-diverse people."

Born in Guyana, raised in Canada, with many years living and working abroad, Dreeni brings both professional expertise and a deep personal commitment to building equitable, survivor-centred communities.
