We're seeking a Part-Time Outreach Associate (Temporary Contract) to join our team. From helping patrons find their next read to delivering outreach programs and Bookmobiles services across Welland, this role is all about connecting people with the library in meaningful ways.

The June children's book display at our Diamond Trail Branch is buzzing with stories about insects, bugs, butterflies, bees, and more! Whether you're a curious preschooler, an emerging reader, or a nature-loving bookworm, there's something for every age to discover.

Enjoy presentations from Liz Benneian of Biodiversity and Climate Change Niagara:
🦋 Keystone Species presentation at 11:30am, Centre Court
🌱 Kids’ presentation at 1:30pm, Centre Court

Plus:
🌿 Drop-in activities and community engagement in Centre Court from 11am–3pm
📚 Children’s storytime and craft at the Seaway Mall Library Branch at 10am

As one of the region's only mobile library services at the time, from 1946–1969 the Welland County Library’s bookmobile brought books to communities across the Niagara Peninsula.

The vehicle pictured here, affectionately nicknamed “Annabelle,” was operated in the early 1950s by Librarian Mary Alvin, who recalled being given just one driving lesson before taking the large bookmobile out on her own:
“At the time, I was just learning to drive a car, and almost fainted dead away at the thought of taking Annabelle out alone after a morning’s lesson.” - Mary Alvin

More than 70 years later, that same bookmobile spirit is getting ready to roll through Niagara again... But with extensive driver training this time! 📚🚐
