🌎 Do you know where air pollution comes from?

Air pollution comes from both human-caused and natural sources.

Burning fossil fuels for transportation, electricity and industrial processes remains a major contributor. At the same time, wildfire smoke, dust, and pollen—made worse by climate change—are affecting air quality more often and across greater distances. 🚗🏭 🔥

Air pollution doesn’t respect borders. It can travel across provinces, territories and even countries.

🌡️ It's Heat Action Day!
Extreme heat doesn’t affect everyone equally.

In Durham Region, people living in homes that are more prone to high indoor temperatures face a greater risk of heat-related illness and death.

By prioritizing support for those most at risk—such as improving access to cooling and checking in on vulnerable residents—we can help keep our community safer during heat events.

👉 Take action: Check on family, friends, and neighbours, stay hydrated, use available cooling spaces, and make a plan to stay safe during extreme heat.

💛 Let’s work together to protect each other when temperatures rise.
