Last week some Habitat Manitoba staff had the pleasure of visiting Artem and his class at Westdale School! As a runner-up winner in the national Meaning of Home contest, Artem won an iPad and pizza party for his whole grade 6 class. Thank you Artem and all of Ms. Tanya's class for having us and for participating in Meaning of Home! Artem's winnipeg entry means $10,000 towards Habitat Manitoba!

ICYMI: Today is World Bicycle Day, a chance to celebrate the bicycle as a simple yet powerful tool for health, connection, and positive change. It’s also the perfect lead-in to what’s ahead!

Bike Week Winnipeg is coming June 7–13, bringing a full week of events to get people across the city moving on two wheels.

One of the highlights is Bike to Work Day on Tuesday, June 9, and our Cycle of Hope riders will be part of the excitement!

Habitat for Humanity Manitoba will be co-hosting a Bike to Work Day Pit Stop at Woodcock Cycle Works from 6:30–9:00 AM, where we’ll be handing out Timbits, cycling swag, and coffee from the always-amazing Yellow Derny Café ☕🍩

We were incredibly honoured to receive the Spirit of Winnipeg Award for Environment & Sustainability yesterday from The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce! 💚

This recognition reflects the collective impact of our supporters, volunteers, partners, ReStore customers and homeowners who help us build a more sustainable Manitoba. From diverting millions of pounds of usable materials from landfills through our Habitat ReStores, to building energy-efficient homes, sustainability remains an important part of how our mission to homes, communities and hope.

We’re also proud to stand alongside our fellow finalists in this category, Manitoba Habitat Conservancy. Congratulations to all the organizations that were recognized for making a positive impact in our community.

It’s the most ambitious build season in Habitat Manitoba history, and it means more families than ever before will have the opportunity to build a better future through affordable homeownership.

At our Pandora Avenue West development alone, approximately 275 residents, including 175 children, will soon have a safe and energy-efficient place to call home.

This work creates lasting change for families and stronger communities across Manitoba.

But ambitious goals require community support.
