Bill C-37 Violates First Nations’ Human Right to Water
Email your MP to share your concerns about C-37 -
The First Nations Water Act, was tabled in June 2026 and fails to recognize the human right of all First Nations individuals to access clean water on reserve. In fact, this legislation has deliberately removed the federal government’s duty to ensure clean water for everyone in Canada. Bill C-37 is a clear violation of international law and another example of the Carney government backsliding on human rights for Indigenous peoples.

URGENT! Hundreds of tenants at threat of eviction!

The Right to Housing Coalition is standing in solidarity with the West Broadway Tenants Committee and tenants facing massive rent increases.

We encourage our supporters to attend their rally at Premier Kinew’s office at 565 Osborne St. THIS FRIDAY, September 25th at 12 noon. Join them as they call for stronger protections for tenants who are at risk of being pushed out of their homes by these rent increases before they have a meaningful opportunity to challenge them.

We’re gathering at First Mennonite Church (922 Notre Dame Ave) from 12-1 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Formal program at 12:30. See you there!

Join us this Saturday for the launch of ALL FIRED UP public-art banners made by artists Natalie Baird and Toby Gilles as part of a Winnipeg Arts Council-funded collaboration between the artists and Manitoba Energy Justice Coalition.

The new banners express the reasons why we come together as a climate-justice movement: our climate grief, outrage, and determination in the face of wildfires, flooding, colonialism, and a new wave of extractive projects. The banners will be used at future climate rallies and other events.

See you this Saturday, September 26 at First Mennonite Church (922 Notre Dame Ave) from 12-1 p.m. Refreshments will be provided, and Natalie and Toby will speak about their work. Climate organizing meeting to follow.

Join us for a community dinner to discuss the municipal election and the people’s climate mandate. RSVP so we know how much food to get!

The dinner is open to anyone, whether you are already organizing for climate justice in your community or looking for ways to get more involved.

There will be a short presentation, but the goal of this gathering is to build relationships and strengthen the connections that will power our movement.
