Maria holds a BSc and MSc in Chemical Engineering from MIT and an MBA with Distinction from 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, alongside qualifications in the Psychology of Work and Project Management.

She began her career at the Bank of Cyprus in Strategic Planning and Retail Banking and has spent the past 25 years as Owner and CEO of Tsiakkastel Office Solutions Ltd. In January 2024, she was appointed 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗬𝗧𝗔 and was reappointed in August 2026.

With extensive experience across banking, entrepreneurship and board leadership, Maria brings a diverse perspective to the evolving role of boards and effective corporate governance.

Andreas received his CFA charter in 2018 and spent over a decade in the UK, most recently as Vice President in Barclays International’s Quantitative Analytics department. Since returning to Cyprus in 2020, he has led Risk Advisory at Grant Thornton and now works in Market and Strategy Risk at Bank of Cyprus, with extensive experience in credit and market risk across European banks.

Since joining the Board of CFA Society Cyprus in 2024, Andreas has progressed from Head of the Advocacy Committee to Vice President and now President. He is passionate about advancing financial literacy in Cyprus and ensuring financial expertise contributes to research and decision-making across the public and private sectors.
