Monday, June 8, 2026: A day when space policy becomes practical.
At "From Space to Solutions," the discussion move quickly from orbit to Earth: from satellite data to agriculture, from artificial intelligence to climate resilience, from geoinformation to maritime awareness, from research infrastructure to entrepreneurship.
As Platinum Sponsor, the German Embassy in Nicosia and its Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Minister Counselor Dirk Roland Haupt, a mentor at the Space Business Incubation Center (BIC) by Eratosthenes Center of Excellence, support this forum because its premise is exactly right. The future of space will be built at the interfaces: between satellites and artificial intelligence, between telecommunications and geodata, between high technology and public services, between research centers and companies, between Europe and its strategic partners.
Cyprus now has a particular opportunity. As an Associate Member of the European Space Agency, it can turn regional relevance, scientific competence, and entrepreneurial energy into a stronger European role in Earth observation and space-based services. The Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry deserve our sincere thanks for organizing a forum that placed this discussion where it belongs: at the meeting point of science, business, public need, and European strategy.
For Germany, this is more than a one-day event. It is part of a growing partnership with Cyprus in space applications, data-driven services, innovation, and the wider space economy — with the German Aerospace Center DLR, the European Space Agency ESA, the Application Center in Oberpfaffenhofen as operator of ESA BIC Bavaria, and strong international partners all forming part of the practical architecture.
The message is clear: space technology becomes powerful when it helps societies decide better, respond faster, and build more resilient economies.
