Planning your first ⚽️ match? These essential tips will help make it an unforgettable experience!
*Tickets available for Saturday

➡️ If you’re planning your first trip to an FCK match on the Betzenberg — the hill where the Fritz-Walter-Stadion sits — here are a few things you should know:

🎟️ 1. Getting Tickets

Buy tickets through the official FCK ticket shop at FCK.de — click “Shops” — or visit an official FCK FanShop.

The FCK website is primarily in German, but an English-language option is available. Click the three lines at the top left, then select the flag at the bottom. Your browser’s translation feature can also help.

Tickets generally go on sale first to FCK members and/or season-ticket holders. If tickets remain available, FCK may then open sales to the general public. The timing and ticket limits vary by match, so always check FCK.de for the official sales information.

FCK also operates an official Ticketbörse, or ticket resale platform, for selected home matches.

🚨 IMPORTANT: Buy tickets only through FCK’s official sales channels or official Ticketbörse. Avoid unknown individuals and unauthorized third-party sites. Fake, duplicated or invalid tickets are a real risk, especially for sold-out matches.

🧣 2. What to Wear

Wear RED and WHITE! 🔴⚪️

Those are FCK’s colors. If you don’t have any gear yet, pick up a scarf from us during one of our periodic pop-up sales, from an official FCK FanShop or from one of the merchandise vendors around the stadium.

Having an FCK scarf is practically a Betze rite of passage!

And unless you enjoy getting heckled — usually in good fun 😄 — you may want to avoid wearing the opposing team’s colors.

🍺 3. Before the Match

Get into downtown Kaiserslautern early and enjoy the matchday atmosphere!

There are no public parking spaces directly at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion, and parking in the surrounding Betzenberg residential area is restricted on home matchdays. Public transportation or the local Park & Ride system is normally your best option.

Even better: your FCK home-match ticket also serves as a VRN public-transport ticket on matchday until 3:00 AM the following morning, covering eligible buses, trams and regional trains within the VRN network. Park & Ride buses are also included.

Then comes one of the best parts:

Walk up the Betzenberg with thousands of FCK fans singing and chanting. 🔥

That walk up the hill toward the Fritz-Walter-Stadion is an unforgettable part of the FCK experience.

Grab a b**r and bratwurst from one of the food stands or local pubs along the way — and it’s always smart to have some cash available outside the stadium.

For major matches, you may also find special fan activities, music, merchandise and other events taking place before kickoff.

➡️ IMPORTANT: Check your ticket carefully and use the entrance designated for your stand or section. Stadium access depends on where your ticket is located.

🎤 4. Inside the Stadium

The stadium gates generally open around two hours before kickoff.

Try to be in your seat or standing area at least 30 minutes before the match so you can experience the buildup and pre-match atmosphere.

And be ready to stand, chant and sing!

The Betze crowd is LOUD, passionate and incredibly loyal.

When “You’ll Never Walk Alone” fills the stadium before kickoff, join in — or simply soak up the goosebumps.

And when the massive red-and-white flags start waving throughout the Westkurve, it can look like a medieval army preparing for battle. 👹🔥

Food and drinks inside the stadium are cashless only. Girocard, debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and other accepted electronic payment methods can be used.

Drinks are served in reusable cups with a small deposit. Return the cup afterward to get your deposit back — or keep your first Betze cup as a matchday souvenir.

We recommend keeping it! 🍺

🗣️ 5. Worried About the Language Barrier?

Most stadium signage and announcements are in German, but many FCK fans and stadium employees speak at least some English and are usually happy to help.

A few useful phrases:

“Auf geht’s, Lautern!” = “Let’s go, Lautern!”
“Betze!” = The common nickname for the Betzenberg and Fritz-Walter-Stadion — and, for many fans, the entire FCK matchday experience.
“Ein Bier, bitte!” = “One b**r, please!” 🍺

And one German football cultural tip: loud whistling usually means booing or showing disapproval.

🙌 6. Be Respectful — and Be LOUD!

FCK supporters are fiercely proud of their club, history and traditions — but they are also very welcoming to newcomers who show respect.

Take photos. Wave your scarf. Learn the chants. Become part of the roar. ENJOY!

And please share your first Betze experience with us.

Because at the Betzenberg…
you’re not just watching the match — you’re becoming part of the Betze family.

🇺🇸 Did you know there is a USO Deployment Processing Center at Rhine Ordnance Barracks (ROB)?

This USO center is unique because it is dedicated specifically to supporting Servicemembers moving through the Deployment Processing Center. Unlike a traditional USO center, it is not open to the general military community. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, it is also one of the largest USO centers in the world.

For many Servicemembers, this may be one of their final stops before heading into harm’s way—or one of their first stops on the journey home. During those hours of transition, even the simplest comforts can mean a great deal.

A comfortable place to relax, snacks and drinks, entertainment, Wi-Fi and computers to stay connected with home, a friendly conversation, or simply a genuine smile can provide comfort and a sense of normalcy during an important moment in their journey.

The USO relies on volunteers to help make this mission possible. 🇺🇸

You don’t need a specialized background or a huge time commitment. Even volunteering for just an hour or two occasionally can make a difference. Maybe you have some free time after the kids go to school, after work, or on the weekend.

Every volunteer helps remind our Servicemembers that they are appreciated, supported, and never forgotten.

For military spouses, retirees, active-duty Servicemembers, and others connected to the military community, this is a meaningful opportunity to continue serving—and to make a direct difference for those deploying or returning home.

Don’t have time to volunteer but still want to help? Even a small donation can help support the USO’s important mission. 😁

And there’s one more easy way to help: Follow the USO Deployment Processing Center on Facebook. 🇺🇸

Following and sharing their page is a simple way to stay connected, learn more about what they do, and help others in our military community discover this important mission.

This is an independently shared community post and not an official USO communication. We are sharing this opportunity because every Servicemember deserves to know that someone is there to support them.

The local professional ⚽️Team brings an incredible energy to Kaiserslautern on match days, with the entire city feeling the impact of the Betze. It’s another powerful example of just how deeply the club and the city are connected.

FCK Is No. 1 in Germany for Match-Day City-Center Impact

A major study has put numbers behind the extraordinary connection between 1. FC Kaiserslautern and its city.

Researchers from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and hystreet analyzed 2,071 home matches in 34 German cities over four seasons, measuring pedestrian traffic in city centers on match days.

The result: Kaiserslautern ranked No. 1 among the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga clubs studied.

On FCK home-match days, pedestrian traffic in Kaiserslautern’s city center rises by 23.2% — the highest increase recorded in the study.

That puts FCK ahead of some of German football’s biggest names, including Bayer Leverkusen at 18.3%, Borussia Dortmund at 17.2%, Schalke 04 at 13.9% and FC Augsburg at 10.3%.

The number is even more striking considering FCK averaged 46,716 spectators per league home match last season — an enormous match-day presence for a city the size of Kaiserslautern, ranking in the top 35 worldwide for ⚽️ attendance.

The study puts hard numbers behind something FCK supporters have long understood: The Betze doesn’t just dominate the Kaiserslautern skyline. It helps bring the entire city to life.
