Today's the day! The sun is shining and we are so excited because today marks the launch of our first ever Fife Reading Challenge.

From today until the 31st of August people of all ages in Fife can visit their local library and sign up for one of our reading challenges!

All you need is a library card- if you don't already have one you can sign up in branch or by using our online form https://www.onfife.com/libraries-archives/join-library/

We can't wait to welcome you into our libraries and start off an amazing summer of reading in Fife!

Please be aware that Waid Community Campus will be closed to the public for 6 weeks from Wednesday 1 July to Friday 14 August for necessary alterations to the building. The school will remain open to pupils until the end of term.

Community Use, Active Schools and Elite football activities will go ahead as planned but the library, cafe and the customer service desk will be affected.

The mobile library will be on site in front of the Waid building on Wednesdays 8 July, 22 July and 5 August from 10.30am to 3.30pm and on Mondays 13 July, 27 July and 10 August from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Fife Council Customer Services staff will be available in the mobile library on the above dates. Batteries for hearing aids can be collected there too.

The community cafe will be closed for the full six weeks. See less

Message from The Waid Academy at Waid Community Campus.

As we approach the start of Term 4 in school, we start our annual Qualifications Scotland Exam Diet. This runs from 20th April until Friday 29th May 2025.
Each year we have more and more rooms used around the school for young people with assessment arrangements and exams being held in a wide variety of rooms around the building (including rooms next to the Community spaces in the library and cafe). In order to ensure all of our young people have the best possible chance of success we would ask for your co-operation when accessing the library and cafe during this period, to ensure noise is kept to the minimum to allow the exams to take place with minimal interruption. Any disruptions to exams can instigate formal QS procedures and this can have an impact on the accreditation of young people. By working together as a community, we can ensure the best possible outcomes for our young people.

The Sports Hall Cafe will be available from 11 - 2 on a Wednesday and Friday for the duration of the exam diet as an alternative play space for those with young children. People who wish to access this space can access take away from the Community Cafe and will be responsible for those using the space. This way we are all working together to ensure the exams can happen in as fair a way as possible for all young people in our local community.
