Who are we? We navigate and advocate.

We are an independent, influential voice. We connect people to HSC services so that they can effectively influence these services. We do this by walking beside people, empowering them. The role of the PCC, with respect to health and social care services, is to represent the interests of the public;
• Promote the involvement of the public;
• Assist people making or intending to make a complaint t

hrough advocacy;
• Promote the advice and information by HSC bodies to the public about the design, commissioning and delivery of services;
• Undertake research into the best methods and practices for consulting and engaging the public. To get in contact, Freephone: 0800 917 0222 or Email [email protected]

PCC recently published a Thought Paper, Advocacy: A Call to Action https://pcc-ni.net/media/1yqkcqgl/pcc-call-to-action-advocacy-thought-paper-june-2026.pdf

A core purpose of the paper was to start a discussion, develop thinking and build collaboration around this important issue. We are therefore delighted that Inspire has welcomed the paper and made a public response 🔗https://www.inspirewellbeing.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Inspires-response-Patient-and-Client-Councils-Advocacy-A-Call-to-Action.pdf

We will continue to promote this work and develop discussions in the future.
