Great Western Air Ambulance Charity Funded by charitable donations GWAAC serves Bristol, Gloucestershire, Bath and beyond. We need to raise £4 million a year to keep flying.

We receive no day to day funding from the Government or the National Lottery. That means we rely entirely on the generosity of you, the people we serve. We are one of few air ambulances to operate to the Gold Standard Critical Care model. Put simply we are a flying accident and emergency department flying the most highly trained doctors and paramedics to the scene.

Welcome to our three new Trustees to our charity – Tonia Lovell, Chris Ware and Dave Boden. 👋

They bring a wealth of experience from varied backgrounds and are committed to strengthening GWAAC’s vital work in our communities. 🚁

All Trustees are volunteers. They play an important role in helping guide our charity's future direction and ensuring we continue to provide lifesaving critical care across our region.

Your Great Western Air Ambulance Charity Shop is officially open in ! 🚁

We were delighted to welcome Ann, who we treated in 2024 following an at-home cardiac arrest. She was on hand to cut the ribbon and unveil the new shop in front of a queue of supporters were able to go into the shop and take a look.

Heli Laughs returns to the Bristol Old Vic on Thursday 3 September!

Here's a to last year's incredible night, when our brilliant audience helped raise £15,000 for our lifesaving work. 🚁

Last year's event saw acts such as Angela Barnes, Stuart Goldsmith Comedian and Laura Lexx perform and host. This year we've already confirmed amazing acts including Kiri Pritchard - McLean, Michael Odewale and Huge Davies.

Our crew carry special equipment to help them treat even our smallest patients, whether they are seriously ill or injured. 🩺
