🔥 Witness Appeal – C**k Road Ridge 🔥

We're saddened to report that the bench at C**k Road Ridge has been deliberately set alight and completely destroyed. This is the second time the bench has been targeted, and unfortunately there is currently no funding available for a replacement.

If you saw anything suspicious in the area or have any information that could help identify those responsible, please contact Avon & Somerset Police on 101 or get in touch with Oldland Parish Council.

We're delighted to be welcoming visitors back to the whole site at Grimsbury Farm from Tuesday 22 September.

Alongside improvements across the farm, we've also been busy helping some exciting new arrivals settle into their new home 👀

🌿 Fantastic news for Cadbury Heath Community Garden! 🌿

Oldland Parish Council is delighted to announce that we have secured £20,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund to support the continued growth and success of Cadbury Heath Community Garden.

This funding will provide a Part-Time Project Coordinator for the next two years, helping to support and oversee the engagement of volunteers and local organisations. Their work will be vital in making sure the garden remains welcoming, accessible and inclusive for everyone in our community.

Cadbury Heath Community Garden is a shared space where people can come together, connect with nature, learn new skills, meet others and enjoy the benefits of being outdoors.

Thanks to National Lottery players, this investment will help the garden continue to flourish as a place for the whole community to share and enjoy.

A huge thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund for believing in the value of this local project and to all the volunteers, partners and supporters who are helping to make the garden such a special place.

Child exploitation is often subtle, gradual, and may hide in plain sight. One of the main places it can happen is online - and it can affect any child.

If you are a parent or carer who would like to learn more about how to keep children and young people safe online from grooming and exploitation, join one of our FREE online information sessions on 29 September (7.00 – 8.30 pm) and 6 October (1.00 – 2.30 pm).

Our Child Exploitation Prevent and Coordinator Officer Andri Nicolaou will explore the different forms exploitation can take, warning signs to look out for, practical steps that can be taken to help protect young people online and how to reach out for help.

Best Wildlife Garden Competition 2026

🌿 A huge thank you to everyone who entered Oldland Parish Council’s Wildlife Garden Competition.

The judging has now taken place, and our councillors were incredibly impressed by the wonderful efforts residents and small groups have made to create welcoming havens for wildlife across the parish.

From wildlife-friendly planting and bug hotels to ponds, long grass, bird boxes and hedgehog havens, it has been fantastic to see so many people helping to support local biodiversity. See the array of wonderful pictures.

🏆 The winners will be announced soon, and everyone will be invited to join us for a celebratory evening at Cadbury Heath Hall on Thursday 8th October at 7.00pm.

Thank you again to all who took part — your gardens and community spaces are making a real difference for wildlife. 🐝🦋🐦
