This week marks Knife Crime Awareness Week 2026.

At Serenity Welfare, we support children and young people facing criminal exploitation, gang culture, county lines and serious violence. We know that prevention starts long before a weapon is ever picked up; through trusted relationships, mentoring and early intervention.

The theme this year is “Change can happen,” and we believe that because we see it happen every day. With the right support, young people can move from crisis toward stability, confidence and a safer future.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 and this year's theme is Action.

At Serenity Welfare, that word means everything to us.
Every day, our team takes action for children and young people who need it most; through crisis support, wellbeing programmes, compassionate transport, and simply showing up. Because for a young person who feels unseen, one caring adult taking action can change everything.

The Mental Health Foundation's top tips remind us that even small actions matter - planning something to look forward to, getting creative, spending time in nature, or just talking things through with someone you trust.

We believe that for young people in complex and high-risk situations, the journey itself matters.

That’s why we do more than provide safe transport.

Every journey is carefully designed to reduce stress, preserve dignity, and build trust through trauma-informed practice, highly trained staff, and high spec vehicles.

We were honoured to receive this feedback:

“It is very clear how much the staff want to support and work collaboratively. They showed care, best practice, and compassion throughout.”

This is exactly what we stand for — creating calm, respectful environments where young people feel valued, understood, and supported.

Because it’s not just about getting there — it’s about how the journey feels 💙

We are incredibly proud to share that our CEO, Emily Aklan, has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Stars of Children & Young People Awards 🌟

She has been recognised in the Outstanding Contribution to Children’s Services Award, highlighting the impact of the work being delivered every day—supporting young people to feel heard, valued and empowered.

At Serenity Welfare, we provide bespoke, holistic support for children and young people, creating safe and nurturing environments where they can thrive.

Congratulations Emily – a truly well-deserved achievement. 💙

We are incredibly proud to share that Serenity Welfare has been named a finalist for Outstanding De-escalation Skills at the WVR Awards 2026.

This recognition reflects the dedication, compassion and professionalism of our teams, who work tirelessly to keep children and young people safe through calm, trauma-informed approaches - even in the most challenging situations.

De-escalation is not just a skill; it is a commitment to dignity, safety and care.
We are honoured to have this work recognised.

We were proud to attend the London Youth Arts Network, hosted by and the Arts Council, as part of Shaping Creative Futures: Piloting Practice at the iconic Victoria and Albert Museum.

A powerful coming together of organisations championing creativity as a tool for connection, expression and real change for young people.

At Serenity Welfare, this work couldn’t align more closely with our mission of creating safe, humanistic spaces where young people can explore, heal and be heard through creative interventions.

Grateful to be part of the conversation and inspired by what’s ahead.
