Can’t spot what you want to read on our shelves? You can search for titles on our online library catalogue, reserve books and have them delivered to the library.

The Friends of Crediton Library will be holding one of their famous booksales this coming Saturday (5th September) from 10 am to 12 noon to raise funds for the library. They'll be in the library car park given fair weather, or inside the library if it's raining. Come on down and grab a bargain!

We were delighted to receive an overdue library book on Friday... 50 years, to the day, since it was due back! It was so overdue, in fact, that it must have been borrowed when the library was in rooms in the old Liberal Club on the High Street 😱 (PS We've notified HR that William's training next year should include a module on 'how to look delighted when you honestly are' 😉)

Although butterflies tend to get all the glory, we've been finding lots of lovely moths in and around the library recently... Is anyone else noticing this?

Join us in the library from 10.30am on Thursday morning for another of our drop-in craft sessions.

This time round, still on the Transport theme of the Summer Book Quest, you'll be able to make ROCKET BOOKMARKS.

No need to book, just turn up. But don't forget to come and show us what you make.

Here at the library we continue to research the history of ourselves: the library service we've provided in Crediton for almost a century! One area of particular interest is that of the "Creedy mobile" - the mobile library that was based here from 1965-1992. If anyone has any memories of it, or the librarians and drivers who staffed it (we know that John Goodman was the name of the gent who served as both driver and librarian from the mid-1970s through to the early-1990s), we'd love to hear from you! Thank you 👍(PS We haven't even been able to find a photo of the Creedy mobile yet - the image below is that of the Okehampton Mobile which took over some of the Creedy stops in 1992...)

It's been a while coming, but... We're very excited to announce that our Teen Book Group will be restarting next month! We have a great volunteer, Claire, who can't wait to get started hosting the group. Drop in to the library to sign up and pick up the first title ("Wonder" by RJ Palacio), which will be discussed at the first meeting on Friday 18th September.

Please note that Crediton Library is scheduled to be completely CLOSED for the week beginning October 5th. This is to allow contractors to make the necessary changes to the building for the installation of Open Plus, the system which will allow monitored out -of-hours public access to the library in the future.

There will be no services available at the library during this week (book issues and loans, food larder, computer access, printing or meeting spaces) so please plan ahead if there is anything you need.

The building will be classed as a construction site and so no members of the public, or staff, will be able to access during that time.
