What an exceptional August it was in Edinburgh! Music, art, and unforgettable performances from artists across the globe!🎤🎭The bustling atmosphere on the streets, combined with the remarkable shows on stage, made the Edinburgh festivals truly extraordinary again😍.

It was a pleasure to connect with numerous artists from Germany during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 🇩🇪. Among them were Sharon von Simson, who delivered the poignant stand-up comedy show “The Midlife Mind Flip,” Alex van Ric, who, alongside Astrid Gutscher showcased his philosophical debut play “Monster Made,” , Alexander Boll, who presented the satirical theatre performance “Claudwick” and Jurgen Strack, who welcomed us to his unique show “Achtung! The only Sauerkraut in town”.

A heartfelt thank you to all the artists for coming from Germany to Edinburgh and contributing to making this festival month so special!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇩🇪

Meet Luis Schmidt👋🏼
The German🇩🇪 conductor founded Capella Edina, Edinburgh’s resident professional philharmonic orchestra, in 2024.🎼
Since then, the orchestra has been bringing outstanding musicians together with a mission to make classical music accessible to all.
On 15 September, Capella Edina will perform a FREE concert at Usher Hall, celebrating Scotland🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 through works by Malcolm Arnold, Max Bruch, James MacMillan and Max Richter.🎻🎫

It was our pleasure to welcome the canoe club of the Turngemeinde Würzburg-Heidingsfeld 🛶 to our Consulate General this week! 🇩🇪

A trip to the twin city Dundee is always a highlight in the year for the canoe club. The warm welcome in Dundee was - as always - wonderful. It’s great to see how the town twinning is thriving on so many levels! The inclusive group got to enjoy a wide range of activities, explored local sights and created some unforgettable memories here in Scotland. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Thank you for coming to Edinburgh and visiting us! It was fantastic to have you here and share more about our work and life in this beautiful part of the world!

Great to see how the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is in full swing and Edinburgh🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 is buzzing with so many artists from Germany 🇩🇪 and around the world!

The variety of shows is truly impressive and Consul General Christiane Hullmann had the privilege of meeting more talented artists and seeing their fantastic shows.

One standout performance was “One Million Words”, presented by Ivo Müller from Brazil who is making his debut in Scotland. Drawing inspiration from the works of Rainer Maria Rilke, one of the most significant writers in the German language, Ivo Müller artfully connects with contemporary themes and today's society. This performance not only commemorates the centenary of the writer’s death but is also part of the Brazilian showcase. 🇧🇷 A highly recommended show that runs until 31 August: www.edfringe.com/tickets/whats-on/one-million-words
