Suzanne and Mark ♥️

It really is extra special conducting a wedding for a family member.

On Sunday, at one of Glasgow’s finest civic buildings, Pollokshields Burgh Hall, I married my cousin’s gorgeous daughter, Suzanne.
It really was a family occasion, as Mark’s talented niece, Molly played the clarsach during the ceremony, and our Mackellar family tartan was used for the handfasting 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

Suzanne and Mark couldn’t take their eyes off each other during the ceremony. The sun beamed through the stained glass, engraved with the old Scottish motto, ‘do good while the holly is green’🌿.
This provides a magnificent testament to their true love, and promises made to each other before and during the ceremony.

Friends and family loved hearing about Suzanne and Mark’s love story, which really showed that the foundation of their relationship is built upon listening, compassion and always making time for eating out- as often as possible!

Congratulations, Mrs and Mr Cairns, and may your love last forever 🥂

On Saturday I married Kayleigh and Lauren. ♥️
Their family and friends were so enthusiastic and the love for these girls and their marriage was enormous. Happy tears and belly laughs all the way through the service.
This pair love all things country and so the country tunes featured. 🎶 🎵 🤠
So fitting that they are heading to Nashville for their honeymoon.

I married T and Mike with their closest family, by the dramatic Bridge House of Blackcraig Castle, on the banks of the River Ardle.
With only four close family members, it was intimate, yet we could feel the presence of the natural world witnessing these moments. 🌳

Niamh and Jenny chose to marry in Arta, not only because it is an incredible venue, but because it is across the road from Blackfriars: the location of their very first date, where it was love at first sight ❤️.

Their ceremony was packed full of meaningful rituals: an oathing stone, handfasting and their beloved three dogs 🐶🐶🐶.

After the ceremony, Jenny and Niamh hotfooted it over to Blackfriars, to recreate their first date and its magic.

It was a wonderful ceremony all round, and I had a few tears as I connected with Jenny’s reflection on the progress in LGBT rights and the ability to legally marry 👭.
