When we first visited Derby Park on the Heritage Trail, we never guessed we would be recreating it's beauty inside our office!! Thanks to Dr John Maguire, CVS Heritage officer, for such an entertaining and fun-filled session. We definitely brought the heritage and beauty of Bootle to life! 😀

We love this amazing mural by Paul Curtis , hidden away near St James' Church in Bootle! Our Climate Champions appreciated all the native animals and wild flowers making a simple brick wall so very beautiful. What a hidden treasure. It inspired us to tackle the planters outside the Investment Centre and start to prepare them for the Autumn.

Thanks to Ian, Colin and the Grow Speke team for a fab visit! The rain didn't stop us having a great time- starting with a warming cuppa 😉 We've finished the decoration for the luxury bug houses - can't wait to see what they look like and all the minibeasts they house! Then we all got really involved in seed saving-
Its amazing how many wonderful seeds we were able to collect, store safely and label 🏷 oh and we can't forget the extra special spikey visitor we met today!! So exciting!

Another brilliant afternoon at Gateway Collective in North Park 😀 Thanks to Gill and Jan for showing us how to make beautiful boxes for our wildflower seedbombs, and scrumptious scones! What a treat!- and we've found ways to reduce air miles, cut out plastic packaging and grow native wildflowers 🌼 🌸 🌻

🌥Today, we started our day off with a weather walk. We have started to record the weather and what we see in the park so that we can compare it to weather walks in the future.

🌿On our walk we also collected leaves to use in our afternoon activity of leaf printing!

🌳We also spoke about how important trees are to the enviroment and the threats that trees face.

Stay Cool at Night

🌡️ Hot nights can make it hard to sleep.

Here are some ways to stay cool:

✅ Keep your bedroom cool during the day. Close curtains or blinds.

✅ Open windows when it is cooler outside.

✅ Use a fan if you have one.

✅ Wear light, loose clothing.

✅ Use lightweight bedding and sheets.

✅ Drink water before bed and keep a drink nearby.

✅ Take a cool shower before going to sleep.

✅ Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and heavy meals late at night.

✅ If you feel too hot, move to a cooler room.
