You may have noticed that the Burdett-Coutts Memorial Fountain has been temporarily fenced off. This precautionary measure has been taken following a recent incident in which some masonry became dislodged from the structure.
Public safety is our highest priority. We are currently working closely with the Tower Hamlets Heritage Officer to arrange a full survey of the monument and determine the extent of the necessary repairs. Once the assessment is complete, we will move forward with the repair work to ensure the monument remains safe and continues to be preserved for future generations.

We understand that the fencing may cause some inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Applications for community events in Tower Hamlets Council
parks for The Big Lunch and The Great Get Together are now open!

Community street parties and outdoor Events - Applications open!

Applications are open for community street parties and outdoor events to celebrate The Big Lunch (7 - 8 June) and The Great Get Together (20 - 22 June)

Applicants wishing to hold community street parties or events in parks need to apply to the council’s events team for permission to hold their event. The deadline for Big Lunch applications is Friday 25 April and the deadline for applications for The Great Get Together is Friday 9 May.

Get your skates on and head down to Tower Hamlets Council Parks this half term.

Our annual winter event, Get Your Skates On, sees ice skating come to Victoria Park on Wednesday 19th February. We've also got adventure play, arts and crafts and pizza making workshops.

New exhibition - Now open at The Art Pavilion in Mile End Park.

ART MATTERS 1 The first of The Essential School Of Painting end of year shows for their part-time year long courses.
Every year ESOP exhibit their part-time year-long artists in two week-long shows at the Art Pavilion. Art Matters 1 is the first of the two. All are welcome to visit the exhibition and see the incredible and wide ranging work of artists who have been studying painting,

Looking for a venue for a unique East London Wedding? We were recently privileged to host the beautiful wedding of Tulsi and Shalini at The Art Pavilion in Mile End Park.

The happy couple said "A huge thanks to you staff on site - they were extremely helpful and kind to all our guests. We couldn’t have asked for a better day and venue for our celebration!"

We are now taking bookings for weddings and receptions at The Pavilions, Mile End Park 2025 and 2026.

We’ve got adventure play sessions, face painting, children’s rides, window box making and more at Whitehorse Adventure Playground. Head down to Victoria Park for fishing, pond dipping and canoeing!

Gosling Gardens Launch Event

Join the Tower Hamlets Council Parks team to celebrate the refurbishment of Gosling Gardens, Bigland Street, E1.

New junior and toddler playgrounds have been installed, including equipment for children with additional needs. We have also installed a small outdoor gym. New trees have been planted.

The event will include smoothie making and arts & crafts.

Thursday 16 May 2024, 12noon - 3pm.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

FREE session, no booking required but places are limited.
