🇬🇧 As part of their European tour, Tango Jazz Quartet performed at the Argentine Ambassador’s Residence, presenting an original and creative musical proposal that brings together the roots of Argentine tango and jazz.

With 10 albums released and 31 international tours completed, including seven consecutive years performing in the United Kingdom, the ensemble has appeared at some of the most prestigious jazz clubs and festivals across Europe, the United States, China, Russia, South America and Africa.

Tango Jazz Quartet is distinguished by its innovative approach to Argentine popular music and by a constant artistic search and evolution. Its repertoire ranges from traditional tango to the music of Astor Piazzolla, always through the language and spirit of jazz.

🇦🇷 En el marco de su gira por Europa, Tango Jazz Quartet se presentó en la Residencia Argentina, ofreciendo una propuesta original y creativa en la que confluyen las raíces del tango argentino y el jazz.

Con 10 álbumes editados y 31 giras internacionales realizadas, entre ellas siete años consecutivos de presentaciones en el Reino Unido, la agrupación ha actuado en algunos de los clubes de jazz y festivales más prestigiosos de Europa, Estados Unidos, China, Rusia, América del Sur y África.

Tango Jazz Quartet se distingue por su enfoque innovador en la interpretación de la música popular argentina y por una búsqueda artística en constante evolución. Su repertorio recorre desde el tango tradicional hasta la obra de Astor Piazzolla, siempre atravesado por el lenguaje y la impronta del jazz.

🇦🇷 Rendimos homenaje al General José de San Martín en el aniversario 176° de su paso a la inmortalidad.

En un acto conmemorativo junto a la estatua de Belgrave Square, la Embajadora Mariana Plaza, colocó una ofrenda floral junto al Agregado de Defensa, Comodoro Nestor Fabián Brunetta y Tony Robinson del British San Martín Institute.

Contamos con la grata presencia de los Embajadores de Chile y Perú, agregados diplomáticos y consulares, miembros de agregadurías de defensa latinoamericanas, la Anglo-Argentine Society, el British San Martín Institute y la Anglo Chilean Society.

Posteriormente, compartimos un cocktail donde la Embajadora Mariana Plaza y Juan Dávila y Verdín, Secretario General del British San Martín Institute, brindaron unas palabras en honor al General San Martín y su trayectoria. Para coronar el encuentro, todos los invitados entonaron la Marcha de San Lorenzo.

🇬🇧 We paid tribute to General José de San Martín on the 176th anniversary of his passing.

During a commemorative ceremony by the statue in Belgrave Square, Ambassador Mariana Plaza laid a floral wreath alongside Defence Attaché Commodore Néstor Fabián Brunetta and Tony Robinson from the British San Martín Institute.

We were honoured to welcome the Ambassadors of Chile and Peru, diplomatic and consular attachés, members of Latin American defence attachés, the Anglo-Argentine Society, the British San Martín Institute, and the Anglo-Chilean Society.

Afterwards, we hosted a reception where Ambassador Mariana Plaza and Juan Dávila y Verdín, Secretary-General of the British San Martín Institute, shared a few words in honour of General San Martín and his legacy. To crown the occasion, all the guests sang the March of San Lorenzo.

Last week, we proudly partnered with IFPI to co-host a key gathering that brought together music industry leaders, policymakers, and creators at the Argentine Ambassador’s Residence in London.

The evening provided a platform to discuss insights from the IFPI Global Music Report 2026, presented by Adriana Restrepo - Regional Director of Latin America at IFPI.

She highlighted the continuous growth of recorded music across the region, with a special focus on Argentina’s phenomenal success and the strategic role of record labels in supporting artists and driving investment.

During the panel discussion - moderated by Estefania Arias Molina from IFPI, alongside our distinguished panellists: Tom Bendall (Deputy Director of Global Market Reporting at IFPI), Dusko Justic (Senior Vice President of International Artist Strategy and Development at Sony Music), Juli Consigli (Owner of Virtuoso Records) and Abbas Lightwalla (Director of Global Legal Policy at IFPI) - we explored the massive international reach of Argentine artists and proved that Argentine music is deeply embedding itself into the global cultural fabric, even where Spanish isn’t the primary language.

A special thank you to IFPI, our brilliant panellists, and all the industry professionals who joined us for such an inspiring and productive evening.

Last week the Governor of the Province of Mendoza, Alfredo Cornejo, visited London where he maintained a productive schedule. His agenda included a meeting at the London Stock Exchange (LSE), where he presented the investment prospects and opportunities in his province and explored London’s potential as a market for listing securities of mining, oil, and gas companies.

He also attended a working lunch hosted by Ambassador Mariana Plaza, in collaboration with Balanz Capital, with representatives from some of the leading investment funds and financial services firms. The event also counted on the particpation of the President of the British Argentine Chamber of Commerce, Javier Alvarez, the Director of Trade & Investment at British Embassy Buenos Aires, Alfredo Fierro MBE, and executives from Balanz Capital.

Finally, the Energy Council and the British Argentine Chamber of Commerce hosted a dinner in honor of the Governor, attended by executives from some of the most important companies in the energy sector, potential investors, and other representatives from the energy industry. Luke Brett, Director General for the Americas at the Energy Council, gave the welcoming remarks, which were followed by a presentation from the Governor where he shared details of Mendoza’s mining potential in potassium, iron, copper, gold, silver, and uranium and highlighted the tools available to channel investments.

On June 4th, we attended the 14th edition of the Networking Day of the British Argentine Chamber of Commerce (BACC), which this year took place at the Revolut offices.

➡️ More than 100 representatives attended, from companies with interests in energy, mining, infrastructure, and other sectors.

🤝 The event featured opening remarks from Ambassador Mariana Plaza; BACC Chairman Javier Alvarez; and Alfredo Fierro MBE, Director of Trade and Investment at the UK Embassy in Argentina.

With the aim of discussing the trade and investment opportunities that Argentina presents for the UK, panels were held in which various specialists spoke about:

* Argentina’s energy landscape: opportunities and outlook.

* Financing Argentina’s key sectors through international capital markets: perspectives from global investors.

* Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI): implementation, early outcomes, investment and case studies.

The event concluded with a presentation by keynote speaker Rolando Figueroa, Governor of Neuquén, who spoke about Vaca Mu**ta and Argentina’s Energy Future.

🇦🇷 Con profundo orgullo la Embajada Argentina en UK conmemoró un nuevo aniversario de la Revolución de Mayo. Las actividades comenzaron con una ofrenda floral y un minuto de silencio ante la estatua del General José de San Martín, acompañados por el cuerpo diplomático y agregados de defensa. Posteriormente, la celebración continuó en la Embajada con una recepción oficial.

Luego del discurso de bienvenida de la Embajadora Mariana Plaza durante el cocktail, se interpretó el Himno Nacional Argentino en piano. A continuación, compartimos una gran jornada junto a autoridades de gobierno, representantes de delegaciones extranjeras, empresarios, delegaciones militares y allegados a nuestra representación.

🇬🇧With profound pride, the Argentine Embassy in the UK commemorated another anniversary of the May Revolution. The activities began with a floral wreath-laying ceremony and a minute of silence at the statue of General José de San Martín, attended by the diplomatic corps and defense attachés. Subsequently, the celebration continued with an official reception at the Embassy.

Following the welcoming remarks by Ambassador Mariana Plaza during the cocktail party, the Argentine National Anthem was performed on the piano. Afterwards, we shared a wonderful evening alongside government officials, representatives of foreign delegations, business leaders, military delegations, and friends of our representation.
