These words were displayed at Hugh Baird College this week as S was named ESOL Student of the Year!

This well-deserved recognition reflects S's determination, resilience, commitment to learning, and the positive impact she has on those around her. We couldn't be prouder of everything she has achieved.

This success is made even more special as it marks the second consecutive year that a Bedspace young person has received this award.

A special congratulations also goes to Julie Homan and the team, whose dedication, encouragement and commitment have helped support S throughout her educational journey. Achievements like this highlight the difference that consistent support and belief can make in helping young people reach their potential.

Recently, young people from our Leaving Care, St Helens/Wirral Pathway and Separated Children services came together for a Hope Street Walk and visits to Liverpool's two iconic cathedrals! 🚶‍♀️‍➡️🚶‍♂️‍➡️

The day offered much more than sightseeing. It provided opportunities to learn about Liverpool's history, architecture, faiths and cultures, while building confidence, creating new connections, and encouraging positive social engagement.

It was fantastic to see young people exploring, asking questions, and experiencing something different within their community.

A huge thank you to all the staff who helped plan and support the visit. These experiences play an important role in helping young people feel connected, confident, and part of the wider community. 💙

These words come from Chloe, a young person supported by our Liverpool Leaving Care and Outreach service, who recently wrote a poem titled 'Bedspace'.

Her poem beautifully captures what safe accommodation, stability, and support can mean to a young person navigating uncertainty and building their future.

At Bedspace, we're privileged to walk alongside young people as they find confidence, independence, and a place to call home.

We’re incredibly proud to have raised over £1,000 for Andys Man Club through the amazing efforts of our staff and supporters.

Andy’s Man Club provides free peer-to-peer support groups for men across the UK, with over 6,700 men attending sessions every Monday night.

Chris Kelly, Area Lead for Greater Manchester and East Lancashire, told us:
“Donations like this make a real difference. They help us keep our doors open to over 350 clubs across the UK, supporting thousands of men every week.”

Over the past 12 months alone, donations like ours and many others have helped Andy’s Man Club open 80 new clubs nationwide, ensuring more men can access support when they need it most.

Sunshine, teamwork, and a little bit of gardening magic! 🌞🌱

Our staff and young people have been making the most of the beautiful weather by transforming their outdoor space!

Together, they tidied up the planters and planted flowers, along with seeds for onions, carrots, peppers, rocket, and strawberries!

It’s been a brilliant way to build teamwork, boost wellbeing, and create a space everyone can feel proud of.

And of course… it wouldn’t be complete without coffee and cake at the end ☕🍰

Easter may be over, but we’re taking a moment to look back at the activities across Manchester and Leeds! 🐣

In Manchester, the Easter Fun Day brought together creative challenges, team games and friendly competition, with young people getting fully involved and even stepping forward to be part of interview panels, helping shape the future of their services!

Over in Leeds, a scavenger hunt across the trainer flats kept everyone on their toes, with hidden eggs containing everything from practical essentials to fun prizes (and a few sour forfeits thrown in for good measure). 🪺

Hearing directly from young people made it even more worthwhile:
“Really good games!”
“I had fun, I really enjoyed the day!”
“I always enjoy these events!”
