🌱 It’s always a pleasure to visit Incredible Edible and see the amazing work taking place to support our community.

From community activities and wellbeing projects to creating welcoming spaces where people can connect, learn and thrive, there is always something positive happening. It was great to spend some time with Karen and hear about the exciting plans for the future, including the next phase of site developments and opportunities to grow their impact even further.

There are certainly exciting times ahead, and I’m proud to support the fantastic work of the team, volunteers and everyone involved.

Thank you for everything you do for our community – your passion, commitment and vision continue to make a real difference. 🌿💚

📢 Teams from Knowsley Council and its partners will be out and about in the Roby ward on Wednesday 10 June, tackling a range of environmental issues, from littering and graffiti to fly tipping and dog fouling.

✅ It’s one of a series of Environmental Action Days being held across the borough, bringing partner agencies together to spend a day focusing on the most pressing issues in a specific location.

🐕‍🦺 also come along to Court Hey Park for the responsible dog event which is taking place from 9.30am until 2pm - you can get your dog microchipped and the RSPCA will also be joining the team running a dog and cat food bank where you can donate in-date and unopened food.

💻 You can also get help to get online from the digital team who will be in the mobile unit in the park's car park from 10am until 12 noon

🗨️ Cllr Shelley Powell, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods said: “This is just one of a number of regular action days where we will target specific locations and effectively tackle the issues impacting on our communities. By working with partners, we are making a real impact across the borough. As well as taking specific action to tackle environmental issues in a ward, we will also be encouraging behaviour change and providing opportunities for communities to participate in looking after where they live and work.”

Keeping Our Parks Safe and Clean 🌳

I've been continuing to monitor the waste bins and surrounding areas at Court Hey Park, highlighting the presence of nitrous oxide canisters for collection and removal as quickly as possible.

These canisters not only create litter but can also pose risks to park users, particularly children and young people who use our green spaces every day.

Keeping our parks and public spaces clean, tidy and safe remains one of our priorities. Everyone deserves to enjoy Court Hey Park in an environment that is welcoming, well-maintained and free from unnecessary hazards.

If you spot any issues in the park, please let me know so they can be reported and addressed.

Together, we can help keep Court Hey Park a place we can all be proud of.

🚂 Great to see the newly installed train set at Court Hey Park! 🌳

This is just the beginning. We are continuing to work with partners to identify funding opportunities and develop plans for additional play equipment and improvements across the park.

Court Hey Park is a fantastic community asset, and we want to ensure it continues to provide enjoyable, safe and engaging spaces for children, young people and families to enjoy for years to come.

It’s exciting to see investment starting to take shape, and we look forward to sharing further updates as our plans progress.

🚨 REPORTED & SORTED 🚨

Today we reported fly-tipping to the rear of the Acacia Avenue shops and I’m pleased to say it was cleared away the very same day. 👏

Thank you to the teams involved for the quick response and action taken to get this removed swiftly. Fly-tipping not only looks terrible, but can also attract further waste and anti-social behaviour if left unchecked.

If you spot issues like this across Roby, please continue to let us know. We will keep listening, supporting and delivering for our community. ❤️

Last night, on a beautiful evening across Roby ☀️, we were back out on another ward walkabout because although the elections are over, our work never stops!

🗣️ We spent time speaking with residents and checking on local issues and improvements across the ward.

🎨🚧 We also stopped by the subway at the Rimmer Avenue entrance to see the ongoing works to repaint the ceilings and entrance walls It’s great to see improvements being made to brighten up the area and help make the route feel more welcoming for residents.

⚠️✔️ While there, we noticed a broken step which has now been reported for repair.

🌼🎨 Half Term Fun Starts Tomorrow Across Huyton! 🎨🌼

Looking for something to keep the children entertained this half term? There are plenty of FREE activities taking place in our local parks, thanks to the fantastic efforts of Knowsley Council, Friends of Groups, volunteers and community organisations.

📍 Tuesday 26 May – McGoldrick Park
🕐 1pm – 3pm
Face painting, circus skills, nature trail, crafts and refreshments.

📍 Wednesday 27 May – Court Hey Park
🕛 12pm – 2pm
Planting activities, crafts, circus skills, face painting, bouncy castle, slide, tombola, raffle and nature trail.
🥪 Free lunch bags for children (while stocks last).

📍 Thursday 28 May – Ten Acre Pits
🕛 12pm – 1.30pm
Children’s Gardening Week celebrations with wildlife experiences, crafts, nature trail, raffle and refreshments.

Great to see so many activities and opportunities taking place at Bowring Park this May Half Term for local children, young people and families 🌳☀️

From family fun days and cooking workshops to forest school sessions and football camps, there is something for everyone to get involved in across the week.

A huge well done and thank you to the amazing team and volunteers at Bowring Park who continue to work tirelessly to create opportunities that bring people together, encourage outdoor activity and make a real difference in our community.

These kinds of activities are so important for families during the school holidays and it’s fantastic to see so much on offer locally.

Huyton Telecommunication Mast - UPDATE

We know many residents are angry and frustrated about the decision by the telecommunications companies to push ahead with the installation of temporary mast towers in Huyton Village.

So are we.

Despite significant concerns being raised locally, the telecommunications companies have decided to proceed with these installations.

One mast is being installed under a planning permission previously agreed in 2024. However, we are particularly disappointed that the second operator has chosen to use emergency legislation powers to push ahead before the application was even presented to the Planning Committee.

We do not believe this demonstrates the respect our community deserves.

Residents should be properly listened to, consulted, and kept informed about decisions that affect the area they live in.

Today, we delivered a letter to residents living closest to the proposed locations to ensure people are aware of the planned works and to reassure residents that we continue to stand firmly on the side of our community.

We want to be absolutely clear:
We will not simply accept this situation without opposition.

Alongside Council officers, we are continuing to press the telecommunications companies for a suitable long-term solution as quickly as possible and seeking assurances that these temporary masts will be removed and relocated immediately once a permanent site is secured.

We remain committed to standing up for residents and will continue to keep the community updated as matters progress.

Thank You, Roby ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in yesterday’s local elections and made their voice heard.

Elections are an important part of our democracy, and we’re grateful to every resident who went out to vote.

To everyone who supported us, volunteered, displayed posters, spoke with us on the doorstep, or simply took the time to share your views - thank you. Your support, kindness and conversations have meant a great deal throughout this campaign.

No matter who you voted for, one thing remains the same, we are here to listen, support and deliver for all residents across Roby.

We care deeply about our community and will continue working hard, being visible, and standing up for the issues that matter most to local people.
