This Wednesday at 6pm in the University of Sheffield Student Union View Room 6, we will be holding a meeting to discuss the 1926 British General Strike!

On this day, 100 years ago, Britain could have had a socialist revolution.

It's an event not often spoken about, one that shook the world, where workers began to take up the task of running society themselves!

And this is no event of pure historical interest, but a question gaining flesh and blood before our eyes. It came about in response to British capitalism finding itself in a period of stagnation, crisis, and decline. (Sound familiar?)

Unfortunately the strike was defeated, but its lessons are not lost. Today we face those same conditions - and those same tasks.

But this time we intend to win, we intend to take power. Only upon doing this we can finally put capitalism, strangling the world, to death. Once and for all.

On this day, 100 years ago, the Britain could have had a socialist revolution.

The world situation is crying out for bold revolutionary ideas with the abhorrent wars and the Epstein scandal. They cannot get away with it any longer, but the only way for the working class to win is for each and every one of us to get organised. The working class holds the true power in society, as not a single train runs without the kind permission of the working class!

The bbq part of the event will be a more social way of talking about our ideas, if you are new to communism and want to learn more, this is the perfect event. See you there!!
