Step up Support was established in January 2012, by Carole and Liz, two social workers who had over twenty years experience working with Sheffield City Council. Their knowledge of the needs of adults with learning disabilities helped shape the service offered today. The service is based in the community at a four bedroomed house, in south east Sheffield. A dedicated staff team work closely with m
anagement and are supported by volunteer company directors. Step up Support aim to maintain a safe and comfortable homely environment, with an easy going atmosphere. We have a good sized kitchen area which is used to promote skills around cooking, baking and domestic tasks. The house is based within a good local community with many easily accessible facilities. Carole managers the service today and is the Registered Manager and qualified as a social worker in 1989. She has continuously worked with, and supported adults with learning and physical disabilities, and older adults in Sheffield. Step Up Support is proud to be a Social Enterprise. a company limited by guarantee No. 7923210, where profits are re-invested to benefit the aims of the company and those using the company’s services.
