SCL Summer Garden Competition

A big well done to Project 49 and Viking House for their fantastic contributions. Viking's colourful hanging baskets are bursting with life, while Project 49's bee tree and turtle planters have added a fun and creative touch to our outdoor spaces.

It's wonderful to see the talent, teamwork, and community pride on display. Thank you for helping make our environment brighter, greener, and more welcoming for everyone!

SCL Summer Garden Competition

Norvick and Westwood also had entries to the SCL Summer Garden Competition.
Norvick created a butterfly garden along with a large barrel planter full of vibrant, pollinator-friendly flowers to bring colour and wildlife into the space.
Westwood designed a caterpillar made up tyres to plant their floral blooms, along with two scarecrows at the end.
Such unique designs from both services. Thank you for taking part it and for enhancing the outdoor spaces within your service.

SCL Summer Garden Competition 2026

Come and take a look at the beautifully created summer garden entries for Brook Meadows and Longmans.
Longmans designed a forgotten garden with toasters, microwaves and desks as planters and a magical fairy garden from Brook Meadows House.
We were so impressed with these entries and how staff and people we support have come together to make such colourful spaces in their service. Thank you so much for taking part.

Congratulations to our amazing Head Chef John Wealleans for his award for The British Citizenship Roll of Honour.

John has been awarded a British Citizen Award (BCAc) in recognition of his incredible work with the STREETFOOD charity. This prestigious award acknowledges the dedication, commitment, and positive impact John has made in supporting vulnerable people within the local community.
As highlighted in the British Citizen Award Roll of Honour, John established STREETFOOD six years ago to provide weekly meals and support to those experiencing homelessness and hardship. The initiative has grown significantly, helping many people facing difficult circumstances while treating everyone with dignity and respect.
In addition to providing nutritious meals, John has expanded support through the "Bags of Happiness" project, supplying essential items such as clothing, sleeping bags, and other necessities.
