What happens to your household waste?
“Why bother recycling? It all goes to landfill anyway.” WRONG! ❌

Here’s what happens to your waste after we collect it 👇

General waste ➡️
Sent to Hanford Energy from Waste plant, where it’s used to create sustainable power.

Recycling ➡️
Sent to a Materials Recycling Facility, where it’s sorted and processed. The materials are then traded and turned into new products, avoiding landfill.

Garden waste ➡️
Sent for windrow composting and turned into quality compost.

Food waste ➡️
Sent for anaerobic digestion to generate sustainable power, while the digestate is used as fertiliser on local farms.

By putting the right thing in the right bin, you’re helping us recover more, reuse more and keep waste out of landfill.
