🔥 Herts Firefighters cycle 180 miles for an incredible cause 🔥
On Sunday 28 June a team of dedicated Hertfordshire firefighters and colleagues will set off at 5am to cycle to all 29 fire stations across the county, a 180 mile round-trip.
It’s the 9th year that they’ve taken on the challenge, with all funds raised going towards the wonderful Fire Fighters Charity.

Today we honour the memory of our colleague Paul Mallaghan, who sadly lost his life on this day in 2007 while attending an incident on the A1(M). Our thoughts remain with Paul's family, friends, and colleagues.

We have some heartwarming news to share following yesterday’s devastating fire at the Jungle Box in Buntingford.

While carrying out the fire investigation, we incredibly discovered a baby tortoise alive in the aftermath, despite earlier fears that all the animals had died.

A small but powerful moment after a very difficult incident ❤️

Our investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing.

10/06/26 - 03:32, Ware Fire Station were mobilised to an industrial unit off Aspendon road, Buntingford alongside Buntingford Fire Station and 2 appliances from Hertford fire station.
A further 2 appliances were requested on attendance alongside a Water bowser, a Drone, a Command unit and an Aerial ladder platform.

At the peak of the fire, 10 appliances were in attendance.

No persons were involved and the fire is now out with crews remaining on scene damping down. 🚒🧑‍🚒👨‍🚒🔥🪜💦

Update 9.43am :
We are now beginning to scale back our response. Two fire engines and an aerial ladder platform remain at the scene, and crews will continue to damp down hotspots and make sure the area is safe.
Residents may still notice some smoke in the area, so if you think you are likely to be affected, please keep your windows and doors closed. We will be carrying out a fire investigation to establish the cause of the fire.

Firefighters are currently dealing with a fire at a unit on the Watermill Industrial Estate in Buntingford. They were called at 3.19 this morning and have worked hard to stop the fire spreading to other units on the site. Ten fire engines and an aerial ladder platform are currently on scene while they tackle the blaze. No one has been injured and there was no one on site as the fire began. We are asking those in the local area to keep their windows and doors shut as the fire is generating a fair amount of smoke.

Harlow crews had the pleasure of watching Fizz, our Fire Investigation dog in action today.
She was deployed to help determine whether any accelerants had been used in a fire last night and quickly identified two areas of interest. This played a key role in supporting Fire Investigation Officers in confirming the seat of the fire.
