🏊 We’d like to say a MASSIVE thank you and good luck to Lucy, who is participating in the Great North Swim today to raise money for Maggs 🏊

Lucy is taking on this incredible challenge not only to raise vital funds for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity across the county, but also as a special tribute to her late father, Mark:

That’s why we’re taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2026, a campaign that can help us unlock vital match funding and make community donations go even further.

💚 If your business, workplace, school, church, community group or organisation is looking for a local charity to support this Christmas, we’d love to hear from you.

🛻 Reminder that you can donate to our Clothing Project any time using our donations bin! 🛻

Our out‑of‑hours donations bin is always available, making it easy to drop off items whenever it suits you, whether that’s before the school run, after work, or anywhere in between.

👋 If you’d prefer to visit in person, our Clothing Project is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am - 12pm.

With the weather being so unpredictable at the moment, we’re especially in need of seasonal items to help people stay comfortable, such as:

💚 Volunteers’ Week might be over, but the impact of volunteering lasts all year round 💚

🎬 That’s a wrap on , and what a week it’s been! ⭐

We’ve loved celebrating the incredible people who make Maggs what it is. A huge thank you to our fantastic corporate volunteers, community groups, and, above all, our regular volunteers who show up week in, week out to support us 🤝

Although the week may be over, the impact you make is felt every single day — and it’s a huge part of what makes Maggs so special for everyone who uses our services.

😲 Yes, you read that right…

⭐️ Our volunteers contributed an incredible 𝟱,𝟳𝟬𝟬 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 last year. That’s the equivalent of almost 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 ⭐️

It also represents an estimated £65,000 – £80,000+ worth of time, care and compassion, all given to support people experiencing homelessness and complex needs across Worcestershire.

Every single hour represents something real: a conversation, a warm breakfast, a helping hand, a moment of kindness… and a lasting impact on someone’s life.

🤝 This is the power of volunteering.

To each and every one of our volunteers: thank you. You are truly the backbone of Maggs, and we simply couldn’t do what we do without you 💚

🍾 🎈Here are a few more highlights from our wonderful Volunteers’ Week party at Perry Manor Care Home 🎈🍾

💐 From the warm welcome we received from the whole team, who couldn’t have been more attentive throughout the day, to a heartfelt thank you speech from our Chair of Trustees, Jane, it was an afternoon full of appreciation and celebration.

(Jane also shared some 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 stats about the impact our volunteers have had over the past year… which we’ll be sharing very soon 🤭)

It was also lovely to see some of the residents of Perry Manor getting involved with the celebrations, really capturing the sense of community that's so prevalent throughout our wonderful county.

💌 To top it all off, everyone was given a cake box to take home, along with a thoughtful thank you card written by the Perry Manor team, expressing gratitude for everything our volunteers do to support those in need.

We had an absolute blast, and are so grateful to everyone who helped make the afternoon so special 💚

🥂🌷 A special Volunteers’ Week garden party 🥂🌷

We’d like to say a huge thank you to our friends at Perry Manor Care Home for hosting a beautiful garden party for Maggs volunteers as part of .

✨ We’re not quite ready to share all the photos just yet, but here’s a little 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦‑𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘳 of the incredible spread they provided…

From savoury canapés and fish and chips, to a wide selection of desserts, homemade cake, and even an ice cream van, our volunteers were truly spoiled for choice 🍦🍰

🍓 All of this was paired with prosecco and Pimm’s, creating a perfect summer garden party atmosphere, with the Perry Manor team making sure everyone’s glass (and plate!) was never empty.

⭐ As part of Volunteers’ Week, we want to take a moment to recognise and celebrate an often unseen group in our community... our trustees ⭐

It’s easy to forget that trustees are volunteers.

Behind every charity are people who quietly give their time and expertise to help guide and support the organisation, often alongside their own everyday commitments.

📈 While their work isn’t always visible, it’s absolutely vital. From shaping direction to providing guidance and oversight, trustees play a key role in helping charities like Maggs continue to grow and support the people who rely on us.
