Central Bank of The Gambia – Monetary Policy Committee Press Briefing Highlights!

“The Monetary Policy Committee has reduced the Monetary Policy Rate by 200 basis points to 14%.”

Following its February 2026 meeting, the Central Bank of The Gambia assessed both domestic and global economic conditions, highlighting continued global resilience with growth projected at 3.3% in 2026.

The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of The Gambia began its 97th meeting today, 25th February 2026, at the Bank’s headquarters in Banjul.

Chaired by the Governor, Hon. Buah Saidy, the Committee will review and analyse recent economic data from within and outside the country.

The meeting will conclude on Thursday, 26th February 2026, with a press conference scheduled for 2:30 PM at the Bank’s conference room.
