The Senegalo-Gambian Permanent Secretariat (PSSG), is an Interstate Institution and Cooperation established in 2012 between The Republic of Senegal and The Republic of The Gambia, to reinforce the fruitful cooperation existing between the two countries.

𝗔 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗲-𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝟭𝟵 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

The monitoring mission was preceded by a coordination and briefing meeting between the two delegations, in the presence of the Permanent Secretariat, in Touba Trankil. The mission concluded with the identification of a border marker at Dimbaya, The Gambia.
The first phase of the densification operations, covering the Touba Trankil–Dar Salami section, will continue towards Bullock–Kuram. Field operations are ongoing and progressing satisfactorily.

𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜̧𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞

Une mission conjointe sénégalo-gambienne a été menée ce 19 août 2026, dans le cadre du suivi des opérations de densification de la frontière.
Cette mission de suivi des opérations a été précédée par une réunion de mise à niveau entre les deux délégation en présence du secretariat permanent à Touba trankil. Elle s'est terminée par l'identification d'une borne frontière à Dimbaya Gambie.
La première phase de densification allant de Touba trankil-Dar salami se poursuivra jusqu'à Bullock-Kuram. Les opérations sur le terrain se poursuivent et se passent convenablement.

𝗔𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗮,
which began on 15 August 2026, the Permanent Secretariat today conducted an awareness and information mission in the villages of Touba Trankil, Dar Salam, Dimbaya Gambia, and Dimbaya Senegal.
The mission was carried out in the company of Colonel Gueye, representing the Senegalese Border Management Commission, and a delegation from the Embassy of Senegal in Banjul.
The local populations warmly welcomed the mission and expressed their readiness to support the technical teams in the field as they carry out their mandate.
The Permanent Secretariat extends its sincere appreciation to the border communities of both countries for their cooperation and reaffirms its commitment to continuously working towards greater understanding, harmony, and strengthened relations between Senegal and The Gambia.

Dans le cadre de la reprise des activités de délimitation et de densification de la frontière entre le senegal et la gambie entamé ce 15 août 2026.

Le secrétariat permanent a mené aujourd'hui, en compagnie du colonel Gueye représentant la commission sénégalaise de gestion des frontières et d'une délégation de l'ambassade du sénégal à Banjul, une mission de sensibilisation et d'information dans les villages de Touba Trankil, Dar Salam, Dimbaya Gambie et Dimbaya Sénégal.

Les populations ont accueilli avec une grande joie la mission et sont prêts à accompagner les équipes techniques sur le terrain dans l'exercice de leur mission.

Le Secrétariat permanent remercie les populations frontalières des deux pays de leur collaboration et leur renouvelle sa disponibilité à toujours œuvrer pour une parfaite entente entre les deux pays.

The discussions focused primarily on the progress of agreements between the two governments, decisions concerning the Trans-Gambia Road, and the need to develop large-scale projects between Senegal and The Gambia.

The Permanent Secretariat expresses its appreciation to the Honourable Minister for his passion for the development of the sub-region and for his commitment to supporting the Secretariat in better addressing its needs in the service of cooperation between the two countries.

𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜̧𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞

L'Ambassadeur, Secrétaire executif du Secrétariat permanent senegalo gambien a été reçu, ce jour, par l'honorable Seedy K.M. KEITA, Ministre des Finances de Gambie. L'entretien a porté essentiellement sur l'état d'avancement des accords entre les deux gouvernements, sur les decisions relatives à la route transgambienne et sur la nécessité de creation de projets d'envergure entre le Senegal et la Gambie. Le Secrétariat permanent remercie le Ministre de sa passion pour le développement de la sous region et pour son engagement à accompagner le Secrétariat pour une meilleure prise en charge de ses besoins aux services de la coopération entre les deux pays.

𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄

The Senegalo-Gambian Permanent Secretariat is pleased to inform the Senegambian community that, in accordance with the high instructions of Their Excellencies the Heads of State of the Republic of Senegal and the Republic of The Gambia, who have given priority to dialogue, consultation, and the spirit of fraternity, a final agreement has been reached on the clear and mutually agreed delimitation of the border between the two countries.

The joint activities for the reaffirmation and densification of the southern border will resume effective 15 August 2026, covering the section from Touba Tranquil–Dar Salam to Saré Yoro Guèye–Jahanka.

The Senegalo-Gambian Permanent Secretariat extends its warmest congratulations to Honourable Alieu Njie, Chairman of the National Border Commission of the Republic of The Gambia, and Major General Cheikh M. L. B. Camara, Chairman of the National Border Management Commission of the Republic of Senegal, for their remarkable efforts, which made the successful conclusion of this agreement possible.

Le Secrétariat permanent sénégalo-gambien a le plaisir de porter à la connaissance de la communauté sénégambienne que, conformément aux hautes instructions de Leurs Excellences; les Chefs d’État de la République du Sénégal et de la République de Gambie, qui ont privilégié le dialogue, la concertation et l’esprit de fraternité, un accord définitif a été conclu pour une délimitation claire et consensuelle de la frontière entre les deux pays.
