A little update from our committee. Above are the final drawings for the playground refurbishment which we received from our contractors Browne Brothers. There will be some minor changes to placement of equipment but this gives an idea of what’s to come.

Contracts have been signed this week which allows our contractor to order the equipment. There is a ten week lead time on the arrival of equipment once it is ordered. The playground will then be closed for 3 weeks while the equipment is installed.

We hope to have this playground built before the summer holidays. Wet weather has caused delays to many building sites of recent months so this does push back all projects but we are pushing to have construction take place asap after the delivery of stock 🛝

We are absolutely thrilled to share more good news with the community.

We have our first PLATINUM SPONSOR ✨️

Stephen McCarthy, Astra Construction, has very kindly sponsored the whole of Phase Two of our playground refurbishment costs and have donated a whopping €75,000 😆.

We are delighted to have received such a generous sum of money and this will ensure we can achieve our goals.

Stephen McCarthy firmly believes it is important to invest in the future of children’s physical and mental well being. Astra Construction Services sponsor many other organisations in our community and we are very grateful to be added to that list 🙌

A huge thank you 👏 to Stephen as this substantial some of money brings us to the final stages of our project.

Our pot currently stands at €300,000 💥 which means we are now in a position to move forward with the refurbishment and can fully complete phase 1 and 2.

We aim to order equipment in the coming weeks with work to commence in Spring 2026 🌸.

We will continue to try to secure further sponsorship to include phase 3 and deliver a wonderful playground for our community 🛝

🌟 BIG NEWS FOR OUR COMMUNITY 🌟 just in time for Christmas 🎄.....
The Carrigaline Playground Committee has been awarded €100,000 in funding towards Carrigaline playground refurbishment. South Cork LCDC approved the project funding under the LEADER Rural Development Programme 2023–2027, supported by SECAD Partnership CLG from LEADER 💥. This is the grant we have been working on in the background for the last year. We managed to secure the maximum amount we could have been awarded and we are delighted to be able to share with the Carrigaline Community that all our hard work has paid off. This is a pivotal moment in our journey to refurbish the playground 🛝.

This brings our current funding to approx €225,000❗️

This means we can complete phase 1 of the refurbishment which is €200,000.

We went to tender several weeks back and Browne Brothers have been awarded the contract 👏

Phase 2&3 will be approx €125,000 so we still have a little to go which we are busy working on in the background. We hope to have news on this early next year 🤞.

All going well all phases will be completed simultaneously and we are aiming for works to commence early spring 🌸

Exciting things are coming & again we thank the community for all your support in getting our children the playground they deserve 💪🏼

Huge congratulations to Louise Marni and her family who will be jetting off the Disneyland Paris enchanted Christmas experience. The final tally for our raffle came in at €6444.37 🌟 We have recently applied for some local competitions and funding streams so keep everything crossed we win some more money 💰
