A special thank you to a student who has generously presented the Library with a new jigsaw featuring the Cliffs of Moher 🌊, along with a beautiful thank you card expressing appreciation for the support received throughout the years they have been a student here🎓📚.

The jigsaw has already been placed on display at our puzzles table 🧩.

Thanks to Sligo Traveller Support Group (STSG) for providing ATU Library with a set of the An Post stamps and a copy of a photo taken with President Catherine Connolly to mark commencement of Traveller Pride Week.

On Monday, 25th May 2026, Bernadette Maughan, STSG, Maureen Ward, National Traveller Men’s Forum and Mincéirs Whiden joined Dr. Orla Flynn, ATU president in raising the Traveller Ethnicity Flag.

Please note our opening hours for the coming weeks.

We will be closed over the upcoming bank holiday weekend from Saturday, 30 May to Monday, 1 June inclusive. We will reopen as normal on Tuesday, 2 June at 8:30am.

Please remember that our online library services and resources will remain available 24/7.

From 22 June, we will operate summer opening hours:
Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm.

Calling all undergraduate research supervisors! - Posters in European Parliament, deadline extended to the 18th May

There will be funds available to support two ATU students (from any discipline) to attend Posters in the European Parliament, on the 10th November in Brussels. This event is co-hosted by ATU in conjunction with four other European universities through the Erasmus plus Posters in Brussels initiative and will be opened by Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament.

Students can apply directly here through the submission of a 250-research abstract, 50-word impact statement and research supervisor signature (using the template provided) to apply.

This initiative is for undergraduate students who have completed a final year research project in any discipline. Selected students will receive detailed guidance, training and support prior to presenting.

So if you can think of the ideal research project or student please encourage them to apply and represent your department!! Any questions, please contact [email protected]
