17th September, 2026 is bicentennial birth year of one of profound mathematicians in history of mathematics, Bernhard Riemann, the mathematician whose transcendental vision of space and numbers challenged centuries of Euclidean tradition. From his humble origins and theological training to his rise as Gauss's successor, understand how his ideas laid the foundation for modern physics and the greatest open problem in mathematics today.

We salute Riemann for the legacy he has left in mathematics

Another inspiring story about a women aged 15 × 7
She had to leave school at 9 to care for her siblings.
Then came marriage, widowhood and the responsibility of raising six children alone.

For decades, education remained a dream she could not return to.
Then, at 105, she got another chance.

Through Kerala’s State Literacy Mission, she enrolled in the Class 4 equivalency programme and began studying again, nearly a century after leaving school.

Because of her age, she wrote the examination from home over three days.

She scored 205 out of 275, including a perfect 75/75 in Mathematics.

Her achievement made her the oldest learner in the Kerala State Literacy Mission to clear the equivalency examination and earned her the Nari Shakti Puraskar Award.

She may have left school at 9, but she never left her dream of learning behind.

Friends
It is a great pleasure to announce that mathematics along with openAI tools have solved one of the 7 Millenium problems. So now out of seven, only five remains to get proved. This milestone achievement was made on 6th September and announced publicly on 8th September, 2026. This achievement is made possible by combined efforts of several mathematicians and AI technology. We hope to have many such achievements in near future. Here is the link of the achievement

14th July, 2026 is 117th Wedding Anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan and Janaki.

We are happy to share a photo depicting the marriage of Ramanujan and Janaki as in the Tamil film Ramanujan released in 2014. We make this post as a tribute to Ramanujan as well as P.K. Srinivasan who brought Ramanujan's life and achievements to common man.

Our association's book on Ramanujan titled ENGALIN ANBAR received great attention and continue to inspire many. We pray Ramanujan to shower his blessings to all budding mathematicians, students, teachers to make our country proud.

20th June, 2026 is 21st Remembrance Day of one of great mathematics teacher of India, Shri. P. K. Srinivasan fondly called as PKS by his friends and well wishers.

Shri. PKS devoted his whole life for the development of mathematics. He is a teacher par excellence and was an inspiration to many of his peers and followers. Even today, he is remembered by everyone who had moved with him. Long live his legacy.

Commemorating the 21st Remembrance Day, Pie Mathematics Association conducted an online lecture by Ms. Meena Suresh, who was close associate of Shri. PKS. Many young students knew about Shri. PKS and wished they would follow his footsteps by becoming dedicated teachers.

We are also happy to share the link of a video which contains his interview given to Jaya TV 27 years ago. His influence as teacher, educator and motivator will ever be cherished by everyone. You can see the video at the link

Friends and Well Wishers
Pie Mathematics Association (PMA) has two mainfold objectives namely propagating mathematics and helping very poor and deserving students by taking free classes for them and assisting them to pay part of their course fee etc. So far, many students had benefitted because of this initiative.

We are happy to state that PMA has spent nearly Twenty Lakhs rupees in the past 19 (not inclusive of current year) years to more than 400 students to meet their educational expenses. PMA has conducted more than 100 workshops and lectures so far in view of propagating beauty and importance of mathematics among everyone.

The members of PMA has been actively involved in taking free classes for poor students at various Government and Corporation schools at various parts of Chennai. We have also been involved in taking free classes for students from slum who has very good talent but lack in exposure. PMA by giving that exposure to such students has produced many engineers, medical professionals and responsible citizens. We think this is one of the great achievement in the annals of PMA history. These things are possible only because of active members and kind donors who not even bother to get receipt for their donation from us believing us completely without any expectation.

We wish to extend to continue these service to students of upcoming years also with the support of kind people like you who always be with us and support our initiatives.

Thanks to everyone

On 2nd May, exactly 108 years ago, Ramanujan was conferred with the prestigious FRS (Fellow of Royal Society) at Trinity College, Cambridge University, London. He was the second Indian and first Indian mathematician to receive this great honor. On this memorable moment, we are happy to share the photo of the first bust of Srinivasa Ramanujan made by Paul Granlund and presented to Royal Society of London by great Indian Physicist and Nobel Laureate Chandrasekhar.

We pray Ramanujan to shower his blessings to all students, research scholars, teachers and enthusiasts to have blessed life.
