Except for consular tasks, the Delegation of the European Union in New Delhi is functioning the same way as an Embassy does; it is a diplomatic mission representing the European Union (EU) to India together with the 27 Member States of the European Union. A new generation of EU–India changemakers is here. 🇪🇺🇮🇳

Meet the first-ever EU–India Student Ambassadors’ Network—40 student ambassadors selected from 20 universities across 14 states and union territories, representing the diversity of India’s academic landscape.

Their mission is to inspire more students to explore European higher education and research opportunities while building lasting peer-to-peer connections between India and the EU.

With 4,000+ higher education institutions and 17.5 million students, Europe offers a world of opportunities. This network is helping more young people discover them.

The third EU-India Trade and Technology Council (TTC) in Brussels was a strategic power meeting to accelerate collaboration on trade and technologies shaping our future. From electric vehicles to AI, semiconductors to startups, this partnership is set to unlock new opportunities for businesses, researchers, and entrepreneurs on both sides.

Five big outcomes from the EU-India TTC

· Formal negotiations on India's association to EU’s flagship research programme, Horizon Europe, to start with the aim of locking it before end of 2026

· Establishing the first EU-India Innovation Hub on electric vehicle charging technologies and testing.

· Launching an EU-India Startup Partnership focused on deep tech clean technologies.

· Stepping up cooperation on semiconductors, high-performance computing, quantum technologies, artificial intelligence and 6G.

· Strengthening work on resilient value chains in agri-food, active pharmaceutical ingredients and clean energy technologies.

The European Union delegation was led by Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy, Maroš Šefčovič, Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, and Ekaterina Zaharieva, Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation. The meeting was co-chaired on the Indian side by Dr S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister, Piyush Goyal, Commerce and Industry Minister, and Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology.

Russia managed to occupy only a few square kilometres of Ukrainian territory in May 2026, marking its slowest advance in three years. At the same time, it attacked Ukrainian cities 8,351 times, the highest number since March 2022.

At least 274 civilians were killed and 1,763 injured, the highest toll since April 2022 and almost double the figure recorded in May 2025.
