Shri Vinamra Mishra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, joined the programme "Sach Ke Sath" on DD Kisan as a panelist for a discussion on the Geographical Indication (GI) tag.

A GI tag links a product to its region of origin, recognising the natural resources, agro-climatic conditions and traditional knowledge that make it unique. For our artisans, weavers and farmer-producers, it is a mark of authenticity, a shield against imitation, and a bridge to better markets and better prices.

In the discussion, Joint Secretary highlighted the initiatives of the Ministry of MSME to strengthen the GI ecosystem, supporting producers/ GI Authorized Users through IP Facilitation Centres (IPFCs) across the country, building awareness and capacity, and taking GI products of India to national and International markets through various Exhibitions sponsored by Ministry of MSME.
