Mr. Aditya Dey, NSS Volunteer Namrup College, has secured a place among the Top 25 participants in the National Pragati Dialogue 2026 l– Cybersecurity 101 Quiz out of 93 participants across India.

As a selected NPD Delegate , he got the opportunity to participate in the National Pragati Dialogue 2026 in Dibruagrh University and contribute to the National Youth Statement on BRICS held from 21st August to 23rd August 2026.

🌱 BRIKHYA BANDHU PROGRAMME 🌱

The NSS Unit, Namrup College, Inaugurated the Brikhya Bandhu Programme on 10.08.2026 with the objective of promoting plantation and environmental awareness among students.

As part of the programme, a large number of saplings were planted within the college campus, while nearly 1900 saplings were distributed among students for plantation at their homes and other suitable locations.

🏕️ NSS SPECIAL CAMP 2026 – DAY 7 (CLOSING CEREMONY)

NSS Unit, Namrup College

The seven-day NSS Special Camp 2026 concluded successfully with the Closing Ceremony, marking the end of a week filled with learning, service, teamwork, and community engagement.

The day began with the Morning Assembly and Yoga Session, followed by the Inauguration of the Wall Magazine, creatively prepared by the NSS volunteers. The Wall Magazine was inaugurated by Dr. Durga Prasad Gogoi, Principal, Namrup College, in the presence of faculty members, staff, and volunteers. The Principal appreciated the creativity and dedication of the volunteers.

The Closing Ceremony was held in the College Auditorium under the chairmanship of Dr. Durga Prasad Gogoi, Principal, Namrup College. The programme was graced by Mr. Hijam Homendra Singh (Retd.), HoD, Department of Zoology, Mr. Kalyan Gogoi, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Mrs. Binita Borah Dirial, Assistant Professor, Department of Assamese and Ms. Pranita Rajkhowa, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Namrup College.

The programme was beautifully anchored by Ms. Anannya Basumatari, an active NSS volunteer. Mr. Krishna Kalita, Programme Officer, NSS Unit, Namrup College, delivered the objective of the meeting and presented an overview of the various activities conducted during the seven-day special camp.

The distinguished guests appreciated the sincere efforts, discipline, and dedication of the volunteers and congratulated them on the successful completion of the camp. Volunteers also shared their memorable experiences and learning gained during the camp.

NSS Special Camp 2026 – Day 6
Date: 1 July 2026 (Wednesday)

The sixth day of the NSS Special Camp 2026 commenced with the Morning Assembly, followed by a Yoga Session to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and discipline among the NSS volunteers.

The morning session began with an engaging Quiz Competition, where volunteers enthusiastically participated and demonstrated their knowledge, teamwork, and presence of mind. The competition created a healthy spirit of learning and friendly competition among the participants.

Thereafter, the volunteers undertook Shramdaan activities, including a Campus Cleaning and Beautification Drive. The volunteers cleaned different parts of the college campus, removed waste materials, and carried out beautification works to promote cleanliness and environmental consciousness. Simultaneously, the Wall Magazine Team continued preparing the wall magazine with informative articles, creative writings, and awareness messages.

Following the lunch break, an awareness seminar on "Road Safety: Your Responsibility, Your Life" was organized. The session was delivered by Mr. Nabakanta Borah, Sub-Inspector, Namrup Police Station. He highlighted the importance of obeying traffic rules, wearing helmets and seat belts, avoiding mobile phone use while driving, refraining from drunken driving, and following responsible road behaviour. Through practical examples and interactive discussions, he motivated the volunteers to become responsible road users and ambassadors of road safety in society.

The day concluded with a brief Cultural Programme, showcasing the talents of the volunteers through songs, dances and other performances. The programme was followed by the Evening Assembly, during which the day's activities were reviewed and group-wise action plans and duty allocations were finalized for the next day's programme.

The sixth day of the camp successfully combined knowledge enhancement, community service, civic responsibility, and cultural participation, reinforcing the values of discipline, teamwork, and social commitment among the NSS volunteers.
