On 24.07.2026, Thoothukudi Corporation carried out enforcement, public health, and stakeholder engagement activities across the city.

1. South Zone, Mullakadu – Hoarding removal work was carried out as part of ongoing enforcement measures to maintain clean and orderly public spaces.
2. North Zone, Division 3, Ward 7 – An Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV) camp was conducted for pet animals. A total of 52 pets were vaccinated as part of the Corporation’s efforts to promote animal welfare and prevent rabies.
3. Thoothukudi Corporation – A meeting was organized at 3.30 PM with representatives of digital banner printing agencies to discuss regulatory compliance, civic responsibilities, and matters related to the display of banners within the Corporation limits.

On 23.07.2026, Thoothukudi Corporation carried out enforcement and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with civic regulations and maintain orderly public spaces across the city.

1. West Zone, 3rd Mile and KVK Nagar – Hoardings were removed as part of ongoing enforcement and city maintenance activities to improve the appearance of public spaces.
2. Tiruchendur Roundana – Hoarding removal work is in progress to ensure compliance with civic regulations and maintain a clean urban environment.
3. Old Bus Stand – An inspection was carried out regarding encroachments in the area. Measurements of the encroached portions were taken, and further action is being initiated for lease cancellation in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.

1. Levinjipuram – Drainage wall concrete work is in progress to strengthen the drainage infrastructure and improve stormwater management.
2. Krishnarajapuram 7th Street – Side packing work for the paver block road is in progress to ensure durability and proper finishing of the roadway.
3. Headworks to Malligaithottam – Laying of a 600 mm DI (Ductile Iron) pipeline is in progress to enhance the water supply network and improve the distribution of drinking water to residents.

1. West Zone, Palai Main Road near Ganesh Nagar and 3rd Mile Bridge – Hoarding removal works were carried out and are in progress as part of city maintenance and beautification efforts.
2. Housing Board Area – The Assistant Executive Engineer inspected measurement works under TURIP Phase–III, Package–3.
3. Damodhar Nagar – Culvert concrete work is in progress.
4. M. Thangammal Puram School Building – UPVC window fixing work is in progress.
5. North Zone, Dhanasekarn Nagar Library Building – Sump and septic tank slab concrete work is in progress.
6. South Zone, Muthaiyapuram South Street – Paver block laying work is in progress under TURIP Phase–III, Package–6.
7. Stem Park Lake, North Zone – Toilet bar bending and shuttering work is in progress.
8. Muthalvar Padaippagam – Column concrete work is in progress.
9. Nigilesan Nagar – The Assistant Executive Engineer inspected DBM laying work.
10. North Zone, Division 3, Ward 6, Pon Subbaiah Nagar – An Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV) camp for dogs was conducted.
11. Toovipuram Corporation Primary School – Census training was conducted for enumerators.
12. North Zone, Division 5, New Bus Stand – Bleaching powder was sprinkled as part of preventive sanitation measures.
13. West Zone – A Self-Enumeration Awareness Meeting and demonstration programme was conducted for Holy Cross College students.

Thoothukudi Corporation – Anti-Dengue Month Awareness Activity (16.07.2026)

As part of Anti-Dengue Month, Thoothukudi Corporation organized an awareness rally in the West Zone to create public awareness on dengue prevention and vector control measures.

The rally was flagged off by the Respected Chief Health Officer (CHO) Sir and Sanitary Officer (SO) Sir, marking the commencement of the awareness campaign. The initiative aimed to educate the public on the importance of maintaining cleanliness, preventing water stagnation, eliminating mosquito breeding sources, and adopting preventive measures against dengue and other vector-borne diseases.

Through this awareness programme, residents were encouraged to actively participate in keeping their surroundings clean and to support the Corporation’s efforts in creating a healthier and dengue-free Thoothukudi.

This initiative reflects Thoothukudi Corporation’s continued commitment towards public health, disease prevention, and community participation in maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Thoothukudi Corporation – Enforcement Update (15.07.2026)

As part of the ongoing enforcement drive against banned single-use plastics, Thoothukudi Corporation carried out a special inspection in the North Zone.

North Zone, Division 5, Ward 13, Kurinji Nagar Main Road – A Single-Use Plastic Raid was conducted to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and the Solid Waste Management Rules. A total of 18 shops were inspected during the drive. 15 kg of banned single-use plastic items were seized, and a penalty of ₹1,600 was imposed on 8 establishments found violating the regulations.

Thoothukudi Corporation continues to take strict action against the use and sale of banned single-use plastics and urges all traders and residents to adopt environmentally responsible practices for a cleaner and greener city.

4. ABC Centre – Roof shuttering work is in progress.
5. South Beach Road Walking Track – Handrail fixing work is in progress.

14. North Zone, Ward 10, Muthukrishnapuram – Indoor fogging work was carried out.
15. East Zone, Division 9, Wards 39 & 40 – Uprooted tree waste was removed from WGC Road and Perumal Kovil Street.
16. South Zone, Division 17, Ward 51 – Storm water canal cleaning work is in progress near Blue Berks using a JCB.
17. East Zone, Division 10, Ward 41, V.E. Road – A fine was imposed on a tea stall for disposing of unsegregated waste.
18. North Zone, Division 5, Ettayapuram Main Road – A single-use plastic raid was conducted and a penalty of ₹300 was imposed.
19. North Zone, Division 5, Ettayapuram Main Road – Unwanted posters were removed as part of city maintenance activities.

1. Kokkur Lake – Stone pitching work is in progress to strengthen the lake bund.
2. Harbour Beach – The Chief Engineer inspected the ongoing development works.
3. Ward 30, Toovipuram OHT – Zonation delivery valve repair work is in progress to improve water supply.
4. Velayutham Nagar OHT – The Assistant Commissioner inspected the overhead tank and reviewed its functioning.
5. Corporation Middle School, Thoovipuram – Inspection was carried out to review the school premises and facilities.
6. Behind the East Zone Office – Valve repair work is in progress to ensure uninterrupted water supply.
