On 25 May, Dato’ Zahid called on Dr Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations (FAO). The meeting was a chance to review and reaffirm the close cooperation between Malaysia and the FAO to improve nutrition levels, agricultural productivity and sustainability, and ensure global food security.

On 25 May, Dato’ Zahid and Ms Nidyakala Manian, First Secretary, welcomed Mr. Giovanni Savini, DG of the Investment Facilitation and Unblocking Unit (UMASI), and Ms. Alessandra Baghini, from the National Agency for Inward Investment and Economic Development (INVITALIA), of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) - who came to present the role and initiatives of their offices in attracting and facilitating foreign enterprises in Italy.

On 16 May, the Embassy participated in the 5th Cooking Show Internazionale a Roma, organised by the Italian-Croatian Mosaic Association at the Oratory of San Filippo Neri, Garbatella, Rome.

The event brought together representatives from 22 countries to celebrate culinary traditions and cultural diversity through the presentation of national dishes and cultural heritage.

The Embassy proudly showcased two beloved Malaysian delicacies - seri muka and karipap. We also took the opportunity to highlight the rich multicultural and multiethnic diversity of Malaysian society and promote Visit Malaysia Year 2026 to the international audience.
