8月6日に京都で開催された Europe Night #4 に、弊館からスタートアップ・イノベーションアドバイザーの中山滋彦が参加しました 🇪🇺🇨🇭🇯🇵

本イベントは、日本とヨーロッパのスタートアップやイノベーション関係者が集まり、異分野交流を目的としています。トビアス・マチアセン 氏（Katalysen Ventures）、竹中悠 氏（一般社団法人うめきた未来イノベーション機構U-FINO）、 飯島由多加 氏（Phoenixi） により企画・運営され、分野や業界、国籍を越えた交流の機会となりました。

冒頭では、在大阪スイス領事館の活動や、教育・研究・イノベーションを通じたスイスと日本の連携について紹介しました。そして次回の Europe Night #5: Swiss Energy Tech Meets Kansai は、9月4日に大阪で開催されます。スイスのスタートアップ4社が関西を訪問し、在大阪スイス領事館もU-FINOと共にサポートします。🚀

On August 6, Shigehiko Nakayama, Advisor for Startups & Innovation at Swissnex in Japan, joined Europe Night #4 in Kyoto 🇪🇺🇨🇭🇯🇵

The event was organized by Tobias Mathiasen (Katalysen Ventures), Haruka Takenaka (U-FINO), and Yutaka Iijima (Phoenixi), bringing together people from different industries, disciplines, and nationalities.

At the beginning of the event, Shigehiko introduced Swissnex’s activities and shared how we support connections between Switzerland and Japan through education, research, and innovation.

What new collaborations can emerge from connections across countries and disciplines?
The next edition, Europe Night #5: Swiss Energy Tech Meets Kansai, will take place in Osaka on September 4. Four Swiss startups will visit Kansai, with support from the Consulate of Switzerland in Osaka and U-FINO. 🚀

AIは、スクリーンの外でどのように存在できるのでしょうか？ 🤖🧵

AI Futuresシリーズでは、京都産業大学で研究に取り組む、SUPSI（南スイス応用科学芸術大学）インタラクションデザイン修士課程の学生4名が、AIと身体、素材との新しい関わり方について紹介します。

彼らは、AIで人の動きを検出し、その動きに応じてテキスタイルに投影されるビジュアルを変化させたり、電気を通す導電性ファブリックを使って、触れることで反応が生まれる仕組みを探っています。

デジタルとフィジカルが融合したとき、私たちとAIの関係はどう変わっていくのでしょうか？

What could AI look like beyond the screen? 🤖🧵

In our AI Futures series, four Master’s students in Interaction Design at SUPSI (University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland), currently conducting research at Kyoto Sangyo University, share how they are exploring new ways for AI to interact with the body and physical materials.

Their work uses AI to detect people and influence visuals projected onto textiles, while conductive fabrics create interactions through touch.

How might our relationship with AI change when the digital and physical worlds come together?

スイスと日本のクリエイティブなつながりを深める機会に 🇨🇭🇯🇵🎨

弊館のアート・サイエンスマネージャーのジュテ・レイラが、スイス・ローザンヌに拠点を持つクリエイティブデュオ Get It Studioによる日本での3年ぶりの個展“MEMOKA: Stability is Temporary” のオープニングイベントに参加しました。

会場では、アーティスト兼アーティスティックディレクターのRyuta Aoki氏と意見交換を行い、Art & Scienceを通じた今後の連携の可能性について話し合いました。

スイスと日本のクリエイティブコミュニティのさらなる交流につながることを楽しみにしています。 ✨

Strengthening creative connection between Switzerland and Japan

Our Art & Science Manager, Leïla Joutet, attended the opening of “MEMOKA: Stability is Temporary”, the exhibition in Japan  by Swiss creative duo Get It Studio.

She met with artist and artistic director Ryuta Aoki to exchange, the exhibition explores future opportunities for Swiss- Japan collaboration in Art & Science.

We look forward to seeing more creative exchanges between Switzerland and Japan.

スイス人インターン生受け入れプログラムを紹介しました🇨🇭🇯🇵

日本拠点の企業にスイス人インターン生を派遣するプログラム「NextStepインターンシッププログラム」の説明会を行いました。スイスの職業教育訓練制度やプログラム詳細についてご紹介したほか、受け入れ企業2社（Hello xLAB、鹿島建設株式会社）による体験談の発表も行われました。今年度のインターン生も複数名参加し、企業からの参加者とインターン生の交流の場にもなりました🤝

NextStep Internship Program 🇨🇭🇯🇵

We recently hosted an information session of the NextStep Internship Program, which allows Swiss vocational education and training (VET) graduates to gain work experience in Japan-based companies. The event featured not only introduction to the Swiss VET system and the internship program, but also presentations by current host companies, Hello xLAB and Kajima Corporation, highlighting how Swiss interns have been supporting their work. With the presence of several interns, it also served as an opportunity for companies and interns to exchange opinions on the Swiss and Japanese societies 🤝

京都芸術大学に訪問し意見交換を実施しました🎨📚🇯🇵

弊館のアート・サイエンスマネージャーのジュテ・レイラとアカデミック・リレーションズ部長の小谷みなみが京都芸術大学にて芸術学部学部長の河田 学氏と国際部長の風間 重之氏と意見交換を行いました。

現在、大学で実施されている国際連携のアプローチを元に、スイスとの今後の連携に向けた可能性を探る時間となりました。🇨🇭🤝 🇯🇵

今回の訪問では、大学キャンパス内も見学させていただき、創造的な思考と研究の場となっている造形技術支援工房では、クリエイティブなアイデアを形にしていくプロセスについて理解を深めました。

We visited Kyoto University of the Art and exchanged ideas with professors.🎨📚🇯🇵

A recent visit to Kyoto University of the Arts (KUA) brought together our Art & Science Manager, Leïla Joutet, and Head of Academic Relations, Minami Kotani, with professors from the university. They met with Professor Shigeyuki Kazama, Director of the International Center, and Professor Manabu Kawada, Dean of the Faculty of the Arts, for an insightful exchange on potential future opportunities.

We could discover KUA’s activities, interdisciplinary approach, and creative environment, while exploring potential synergies with Switzerland.🇨🇭🤝 🇯🇵

During the visit, we also toured the university campus and visited the Formative Technology Support Workshop, a space for creative thinking and research, where we gained insights into the process of turning creative ideas into reality.

AI can be helpful in many situations, but with any new technology, it is important not to use it simply because it is convenient. We also need to think about why and how we want to use it.

チューリッヒ応用科学大学（ZHAW）のChristiane Hohenstein教授を、ZHAW-Swissnexスタッフモビリティ・プログラムの一環として日本にお迎えしました！🇨🇭🤝🇯🇵

Christiane氏は、応用言語学で異文化研究・言語多様性におけるコミュニケーションを長年研究しており、日本語とドイツ語の学術的なコミュニケーションを比較研究していたこともあります。また、手話を含めたインクルーシブな言語教育など、持続的な社会に向けての取り組みも行っています。🗣️

今回の滞在では、和歌山大学、立命館大学、神戸大学、大阪大学、関西学院大学と共に今後の連携の可能性について探る予定です。✨

これからも日本でスイスからの研究者をサポートできるのを楽しみにしています！

We are delighted to welcome Prof. Christiane Hohenstein from the University of Applied Sciences School of Applied Linguistics! 🇨🇭🤝🇯🇵 (Head of Research Intercultural Studies and Linguistic Diversity)

Prof. Christiane has long been engaged in research in the intersection of multilingualism and intercultural and linguistic diversity. Her work has also included comparative research on academic communication in Japan and German. In addition, she explores an inclusive approach to language and communication, including sign language, contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable society.

During her stay, she will explore opportunities for future collaboration with Wakayama University, Ritsumeikan University, Kobe University, The University of Osaka, and Kwansei Gakuin University. ✨

We look forward to supporting Swiss researchers who come to Japan.

2026年の授賞式は、9月3日に🇨🇭スイス・チューリッヒのKongresshaus Zürichで開催されます。授賞式が米国を離れてヨーロッパで行われるのは、35年の歴史の中で初めてです。

イグ・ノーベル賞では、思わず笑ってしまうような研究の中にある、科学的な問いや新しい視点が評価されます。

そして、日本の研究者は2025年まで19年連続で受賞。自由な発想と、身近な疑問を真剣に追究する日本の研究者たちが、世界から注目を集めています。
