📢 Breaking News📢 : Campus ambassadors from Taiwan are here! 🥳

🌟 Hello, bonjou and sa ka fèt! Welcome to Saint Lucia, beautiful Helen of the West.

In celebration of TaiwanICDF’s 30th anniversary🎂, three campus ambassadors, Hua-chen, Yi-chun, and Ting-hsuan are on a special mission to explore the vibrant culture and warm hospitality of Saint Lucia! 🌴☀️

During this week, the three energetic ambassadors will visit TW-SLU 🇹🇼🇱🇨technical projects including public health 🩺, agriculture🥬, ICT🖥️, community business⛪, and Mandarin language🔤 implemented by the 臺灣駐聖露西亞技術團 Taiwan Technical Mission in St. Lucia .

Let’s make sure that they get to enjoy saltfish and green fig, cassava cake, breadfruit, plantain, s***e and all the delicacy of Saint Lucia, and capture the story of friendship between Taiwan and Saint Lucia! Stay tuned for their journey! ✨

🎬 How can one tiny chip change the world?

During the special screening of the film "A Chip Odyssey", Taiwan scholarship recipients were offered an opportunity to explore the story of how Taiwan transformed into a global semiconductor powerhouse.

📱 The smartphone in your pocket, 💻 the laptop on your desk, 🚗 electric vehicles, 🤖 artificial intelligence, and countless other technologies all rely on tiny semiconductor chips. But did you know that Taiwan produces 60% of the world's semiconductor chips and more than 90% of the world's most advanced chips?

“A Chip Odyssey” takes us back to where it all began, following the visionaries, engineers, researchers, and innovators whose determination and collaboration transformed Taiwan.

During the cultural session, following the screening and facilitated by our Mandarin teacher, Mr. Andres Chi of the 臺灣駐聖露西亞技術團 Taiwan Technical Mission in St. Lucia, we discussed also Taiwan's traditions and cultural heritage.

To prepare the scholarship recipients’ journey to Taiwan, we hope this documentary inspires them to see beyond the chips and to appreciate our people, their vision, as well as our vibrant culture.

在前往台灣交流之前，我們特別邀請獎學金受獎生一同觀賞紀錄片《造山者－世紀的賭注》（A Chip Odyssey），一起揭開台灣半導體產業崛起的故事。

📱你手中的手機、💻電腦、🚗電動車，甚至🤖AI 技術，背後都少不了一顆小小的晶片。而你知道嗎？全球約60%的半導體晶片，以及超過90%的先進製程晶片，都來自台灣！

《造山者－世紀的賭注》帶領觀眾回到台灣半導體產業的起點，見證一群充滿遠見的領導者、工程師與研究人員，如何用勇氣、創新與堅持，打造出影響全球科技發展的重要產業。

對即將踏上台灣的獎學金受獎生來說，這不只是一部紀錄片，更是一堂認識台灣的重要課程。希望透過這場放映，讓大家了解台灣如何從一座資源有限的島嶼，成為全球半導體產業的重要樞紐，也期待大家帶著這份認識，親身感受台灣的科技實力與創新能量。 🌏✨

電影放映結束後，TaiwanICDF財團法人國際合作發展基金會華語老師紀老師也帶領大家進一步認識台灣的文化、傳統習俗與日常生活，讓受獎生不僅看見台灣的科技實力，也能感受這片土地豐富的人文底蘊與多元魅力。

Co-hosted by Cultural Development Foundation under the Spotlight Taiwan initiative, this 8-week workshop offers local artisans and sculptors a platform to refine technical skills, engage in intercultural collaboration, and showcase market-ready artwork.

Sir Garfield was more than a cricket legend; he was a global symbol of excellence, grace, and humanity. His unparalleled achievements and embodiment of true sportsmanship will continue to inspire generations to pursue greatness with humility and integrity.

We join the Ministry of External Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation and Diaspora Affairs, Government of Saint Lucia and the global cricket community in mourning this profound loss, and in honoring a life that illuminated the very best of sport and humanity.
