INCHR, Governance Commission Hold Strategic Engagement on National Integrity Systems

Cllr. Mohammed Fahbulleh, Acting Chairperson of the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) of Liberia has reiterated the INCHR’s commitment to best practices in governance and integrity systems globally, aligning Liberia with international frameworks such as the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption (AUCPCC) and the Organization for Economic Co‑operation and Development (OECD) Integrity Frameworks for public institutions.

The reaffirmation was made on Thursday July 30, 2026 at the INCHR’s head office in Monrovia during an engagement with Hon Matthew Ballah Kollie, Jr. Oversight Commissioner on National Integrity Systems at the Governance Commission.

Also present in the meeting were Atty. Patmilla Doe Paivah, Oversight Commissioner for the Department of Planning, Internal Monitoring and Evaluation (DPIME) at the INCHR as well as representatives from Liberia Anti- Corruption Commission (LACC), Governance Commission (GC) and the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) of Liberia.

Liberia’s National Integrity Index (NII) was unveiled in April 2026 by the Governance Commission (GC) and the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) to score and rank public institutions annually across five weighted dimensions: Transparency, Accountability, Ethical Compliance, Citizen Engagement and Institutional capacity.

The NII is part of Liberia’s wider integrity framework, coordinated through the National Integrity Forum (NIF) a multi‑stakeholder platform created to coordinate and strengthen integrity institutions, promote transparency, and fight corruption.

It brings together government agencies, oversight bodies, and civil society organizations to ensure accountability across public service.
