🇱🇹 | Žydų gelbėtojų atminimas privalo būti įamžintas – tai pagarbos ir dėkingumo šiems nepaprastiems žmonėms ženklas🕯️
Džiaugiamės ir labai vertiname, kad Vilniaus miesto savivaldybė, atsižvelgusi į Istorinės atminties komisijos rekomendacijas, ant Žvėryne esančio pastato D. Poškos g. 26 sienos įrengė atminimo lentą, skirtą Pasaulio tautų teisuoliams Danieliui ir Marijai Jurkams.
Šioje vietoje buvusiame name Antrojo pasaulinio karo metais jie slėpė iš Vilniaus geto prieš pat jo likvidavimą pabėgusią Rosijanskių šeimą. Iki karo abi šeimos viena kitos nepažinojo, tačiau Danielius ir Marija priėmė bėglius į savo namus, nors suprato, kad už žydų slėpimą grėsė mirtis ne tik jiems patiems, bet ir jų šeimai.
Amžinas dėkingumas telydi šiuos nepaprastus žmones ir jų palikuonis 🕊️

We are deeply grateful to the Vilnius City Municipality for following the recommendations of the Historical Memory Commission and installing a commemorative plaque on the wall of the building at 26 D. Poškos St. in Žvėrynas, honouring Righteous Among the Nations Daniel and Marija Jurkus.
During the Second World War, in the house that once stood on this site, they hid the Rosijanski family, who had escaped from the Vilnius Ghetto shortly before its liquidation. The two families had not known each other before the war, yet Daniel and Marija took the fugitives into their home, fully aware that hiding Jews could cost not only their own lives, but also the lives of their family members.
May eternal gratitude accompany the memory of these extraordinary people and their descendants 🕊️
