We are a nonprofit educational organisation, committed to empower individuals through personal growth, leadership, and communication skills.

We are a group of friendly people who meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 5:45-8pm in the Voila Hotel, Bagatelle Mall, Moka. Many of the members come directly from work as it is conveniently placed between Port Louis and Ebene. There are even small light snacks during the break to satisfy the small hunger. Our name is Financial Toastmaster Club, but this is just a name. We welcome members and guests from many professions, so whatever your profession you are very welcome to join us. Would you like to improve your public speaking skills, learn to communicate, improve your self confidence or just make new friends? ✨ Evergreen Memories 🌿
An evening filled with reflection, laughter, learning, and connection unfolded around the theme Evergreen Memories.

From closing our eyes during the icebreaker and reliving a memory that still brings a smile, to travelling further back in time through stories of past ExCo initiatives, the session reminded us of the moments that continue to stay with us. A special appreciation to Reshmi Nundloll, Deepa Nundloll & Vaibhav Yannick Puri for joining in and bringing those memories to life with some memorable anecdotes. 🤝

🎤 Speechcraft: Building a Winning Speech
Part 1 of Surosh Pillay's Speechcraft educational session explored the building blocks of an effective speech. The discussion was rich and interactive, with members actively sharing insights. Part 2 is already set for 30th September 2026!

💡Table Topics in Action
Adiilah Soormally's earlier tips were put into practice as six speakers took on the Table Topics challenge. Congratulations to guest TM Kovilen Vencatachellum from Port Louis Toastmasters for being recognised as Best Table Topics Speaker! 🏆

Congratulations to Adiilah Soormally on achieving the prestigious Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award. 🎉

The Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award is the highest educational award bestowed by Toastmasters International, recognising excellence in both communication and leadership.

In just three years since beginning her Toastmasters journey, she has reached this remarkable milestone - a true achievement that deserves far more than a round of applause. 🥳

What an incredible evening we had last Wednesday, celebrating The Beauty of Multilingualism!

A huge thank you to our TMOD, Adiilah Soormally, who set the tone brilliantly, opening the session with an energetic local dance that had everyone smiling from the start. From there, the magic continued as each of us shared a word from another language. By the end of the evening, we'd all picked up new words in Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Cantonese, German, Zulu, Malay, Bantu, Japanese, Spanish, and so many more languages. What a beautiful reminder of how connected we are through the simple act of sharing words.

To our GE Salman Kadir, TAG team (Kadeer Joomun, Yashna Veera, Kamalakshi Dayal Ramseebaluck) and all our role takers, thank you for your dedication and for keeping the session running so smoothly.

And to every speaker who seized the opportunity to step up and shine, your courage and enthusiasm are what make this club special.

✨ Rakhi: Building Lasting Friendship 📿
A meaningful session unfolded around the beautiful theme Rakhi - Building lasting friendship, bringing together learning, connection, and the spirit of friendship. 🤝

Our TMoD Deepa Nundloll kept the session lively and engaging throughout and even brought some yummy Indian sweets to celebrate the festive mood while also adding an extra touch of warmth! 🍨

🎤 Inspiring Speeches
The session featured 2 speakers:
🎙️ Neel Bhantoa, with "Leadership for Life"
🎙️ Pallveena Bissessur, with "More than a Detour"
Their speeches were thoughtfully evaluated by Asha Hasnah and Salman Kadir, with each speech offering valuable perspectives on personal growth and life experiences.

📚 Educational Session
The first of the five educational sessions planned for the club was presented by Adiilah Soormally on Table Topics. The session provided valuable insights into speaking with confidence, clarity, and spontaneity.

🏅 The Journey Begins with a Historic First 🏅

Every thriving Toastmasters club starts with a bold idea and a group of people willing to bring it to life.

Today, District 114 celebrates an exciting milestone as IQ-EQ Mauritius Toastmasters Club becomes the first club to be chartered for the 2026–2027 Toastmasters year.

This achievement reflects the dedication of everyone who believed in the vision and worked together to make it a reality. Special recognition goes to the club sponsors, Kashinee Vani Mandy Mardiapoulle and Bibi Adiilah Soormally, whose guidance and commitment were instrumental throughout the journey.

As IQ-EQ Mauritius Toastmasters Club begins this new chapter, may the club continue to Resonate, Inspire, Support, and Empower, creating an environment where members grow as confident communicators and leaders.

It was truly an honour and a privilege to lead our first Toastmasters meeting of the new presidential term. It was a memorable evening filled with collaboration, reflection, and shared aspirations for the journey ahead.

Our theme for the evening was Strategic Plan, where members had the opportunity to share their vision for the future of the club. The Executive Committee also presented our strategic plan, building on the excellent initiatives of previous ExCos while fine tuning and strengthening them to support the year ahead.

💡 One of the highlights of the evening was the interactive activity, where everyone came together to discuss the club's challenges, explore possible solutions, and share ideas. These valuable perspectives will help shape our plans and ensure that the direction taken remains aligned with members' expectations.

🎙️ The meeting was beautifully guided by Hemlesh Greedharry as the Toastmaster of the Day, with DTM Ally Jaulim serving as General Evaluator alongside his TAG team: Timer Neel Bhantoa, Ah Counter DTM Padmini Lareine, and Grammarian Adiilah Soormally. The Toast of the Day, by Kamalakshi Dayal Ramseebaluck, added further value to the evening with a meaningful contribution.

Special appreciation goes to all our role takers for their dedication and commitment. Their efforts continue to provide the stepping stones needed for continuous improvement and meaningful learning experiences.

The energy, participation, and enthusiasm throughout the meeting reflected the strength of our Toastmasters community. Together, we look forward to making the 2026/27 mandate a successful and impactful journey.
