From AI Exploration to Real-World Opportunities 🤖⚡

Over three action-packed days, MRANTI AI Connect 2026 brought together 136 companies from across Malaysia’s innovation ecosystem to explore what AI can do beyond the hype.

Across three thematic series, participants got hands-on exposure to AI technologies, explored practical applications and unpacked real industry challenges, with insights and support from technology and industry leaders including Infineon, AWS, OPPSTAR, U Mobile, YTL AI Labs, TNB, UMMC and Intel.

A special shoutout to Infineon, whose sponsorship of the PSoC™ Edge AI Kits and use case-sharing sessions added another layer of hands-on learning throughout the programme.

But this is only the beginning.

🚀 Day 4: Opportunity Design Workshop will bring shortlisted companies across IT & Digital, Intelligent Mobility, Smart Cities, HealthTech, AgriTech and Energy together with MRANTI, Infineon and industry experts to refine their AI use cases, validate commercial opportunities and identify pathways towards funding support through NTIS and MySTI.

From exploring what's possible to turning AI into something that works in the real world, MRANTI AI Connect is helping move Malaysia's AI ecosystem from ideas to impact.

Meet Qarbotech! Co-founders Suraya and Chee Hoe have developed an innovative photosynthesis enhancer powered by a nanomaterial called carbon quantum dots. When applied to leaves, it converts unutilized light into the perfect spectrum for plants, skyrocketing their photosynthesis rates and overall crop quality. Born out of UPM research in 2018, this technology isn't just a lab experiment—it has already been validated on over 3,000 hectares of rice fields!

The result? Average rice farmers are enjoying at least a 6x ROI, bringing real income transformation to our local farming communities.

Connecting the People Driving Malaysia's AI Ecosystem 🤝🤖

Great ideas rarely happen in isolation. They grow through conversations, collaboration and a community willing to share knowledge.

It was a pleasure for MRANTI to support Techtamu KL Meetup #3, which brought together founders, developers, community builders, technology professionals and AI enthusiasts for meaningful discussions on Malaysia's AI ecosystem.

Through conversations with speakers from diverse backgrounds, participants explored the opportunities and challenges surrounding AI adoption, exchanged real-world experiences, and gained fresh perspectives on how emerging technologies are shaping industries and communities across the country.

The meetup also provided an opportunity for participants to learn more about MRANTI's role in accelerating innovation through initiatives such as the AI Sandbox, while connecting with others who share a common goal of building Malaysia's technology ecosystem.

Communities like Techtamu remind us that innovation is not built by organisations alone. It is built by people who come together to learn, challenge ideas and inspire one another.
