THANK YOU TO OUR FILIPINO COMMUNITY!

The Embassy is filled with pride and gratitude for the overwhelming support shown by the Filipino Community in Norway for our Boys 19 and Girls 19 teams from the Leyte Association of Organized Sports Football Club (LAOSFC) during the recently concluded Norway Cup 2026.

Congratulations to LAOSFC on a successful participation in the Norway Cup 2026, and thank you to everyone who came out to support the Philippine teams.

The Embassy joins the Filipino nation in congratulating Alex Eala for winning her first-ever WTA Tour title and maiden WTA 500 crown at the 2026 Mubadala DC Open earlier today. Her success serves as inspiration to future generations of Filipino tennis players to work and strive to achieve greater achievements in their careers.

The Philippines has formally deposited its official nautical chart of Bajo de Masinloc and its surrounding maritime zones with the United Nations Secretariat on 29 July 2026, marking another important milestone in the country’s continuing efforts to uphold international law and reinforce the legal certainty of its maritime entitlements.

The deposit was made pursuant to Article 16 of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), which requires coastal States to give due publicity to official charts or lists of geographical coordinates showing the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured. By placing the chart on deposit with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Philippines ensures that its official maritime information forms part of the public international record.

HIMIG MUSIKAHAN-BERGEN 2026. The Embassy is pleased to collaborate with the Filipino Culture and Sports Vestland and Fil Nor Vennskapklubben to launch the HIMIG MUSIKAHAN-Bergen 2026 on 22 August 2026 at SMEIN Laksevåg in Bergen.

HIMIG MUSIKAHAN aims to create a platform for empowerment of Filipino bands in Norway to be able to showcase their talent and celebrate Filipino creativity in a big stage and a larger audience. For its inaugural concert, will offer an opportunity for these local bands to perform alongside with MAYONNAISE, a popular alternative rock band from the Philippines.

The event will feature seven Filipino bands based in Norway--Kamao, Big Uhaw, Terraces, Pens & Needles, Bed Spacer, Alter Vibes, and Irrie Herbs. Each of the bands will perform at least one own-composed Original Pilipino Music (OPM).

HIMIG MUSIKAHAN will also feature alternative Filipino rock band Mayonnaise.

Envisioned to be an annual event, HIMIG MUSIKAHAN encourages Filipino diasporas engagements and meaningful cultural experience.

A PROUD MOMENT FOR FILIPINO PLAYERS

The Embassy congratulates the Girls 19 and Boys 19 teams of LAOSFC for reaching the playoffs.

Throughout the tournament, our players displayed incredible grit, skill, and determination. With discipline, teamwork, and passion, no challenge is too great and every goal is within reach.

Our young athletes embodied the true Filipino spirit—hardworking, disciplined, resilient, and passionate. They represented not only their team but also our community with pride, humility, and sportsmanship. These young men and women are a source of pride to Filipinos everywhere.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to the Filipino community, whose support grew stronger with every game. Your cheers, encouragement, generosity, and unwavering presence inspired our players. Thank you for showcasing bayanihan at its finest.

As we celebrate their journey, we invite everyone to join us for a Filipino Community Potluck Farewell Get-Together today at Huk in Bydgoy at 6:30 p.m.

VISITORS AT THE EMBASSY. Early this week, the Embassy was pleased to receive several visitors.

Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Batanes Provincial Officer, Mr. Richie A. Rivera, who is in Oslo for an observation tour, dropped by at the Embassy to share his experiences with Ambassador Enrico T. Fos.

That same day and before his flight, Filipino priest Father Dominic S. Don, OSA paid a courtesy call. Based in Vatican City, Fr. Dominic is a visiting priest who joined the Our Lady of Mount Carmel celebration last weekend.

FILIPINO PLAYERS CONTINUE TO MAKE US PROUD!

Another exciting day on the pitch for our Girls 19 and Boys 19 teams!

Girls 19 secured another impressive victory with a 2–0 win, while our Boys 19 fought hard but came up short, 1–4. Despite today’s result, both teams have shown tremendous heart, determination, and sportsmanship and are now part of the playoff round.

Once again, the Filipino community showed incredible support, with an even bigger crowd than yesterday filling the sidelines with cheers, and applause. Your presence reminds our players that they are never alone on the field.

Now, let's keep the momentum going for the next games.

FEAST OF OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL. The rains did not deter the Filipino faithful in making the journey to Nesodden to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on 25 July 2026 at the Skoklefell Kirke. This is the second straight year that the celebration was held in Nesodden.

The celebration began with a procession to the church, followed by a Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Johan Dumandan and Rome-based priest Fr. Dominic Don.

It was followed by a program and fellowship, featuring Nesodden-based talents and good Filipino food, highlighting the strong faith, fellowship and celebration of the love and protection of Mary.

Representing the Embassy during the event were Consul General Johann Veronica Andal, and Attaches Ferlina Camento and Ellenor Tolentino.

The Embassy congratulates the Nesodden Filipino Catholic Community for organizing the event.
