Every day, before the hospital comes to life, another journey has already begun.

A patient needs to be transferred.
Medicines need to be delivered.
A medical team is heading to a remote village.
An emergency call comes in after midnight.

The Vehicle Department doesn't ask what time it is.

They start the engine.

Behind every safe journey is a team that keeps every vehicle ready to move—day and night, rain or shine.

Most people never notice them.

But without them, many patients would never reach us on time.

Some save lives inside the hospital.

Others make sure those lives get here.

To our dedicated Vehicle Department—thank you for keeping Dhulikhel Hospital moving, one journey at a time.

As part of our continued commitment to adolescent health, our team from Dhulikhel Hospital conducted a training on the HEADDSSS Assessment for healthcare providers at Siddhi Memorial Hospital which focused on equipping providers with practical skills to engage adolescents more effectively, identify risk factors early, and create a safe, non-judgmental space for young patients to open up about their concerns.

This training is part of our broader effort to build a network of adolescent-friendly health providers equipped to address the physical, mental, and social health needs of young people across our partner facilities. We thank the healthcare providers at Siddhi Memorial Hospital for their active participation and commitment to improving adolescent healthcare in our communities.

"𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥."

For the past five years, Ratna Kumar Tamang from Namobuddha-5 has been leading waste management at Dhulikhel Hospital. Together with his six-member team, he ensures that hospital waste is safely collected, segregated, treated, and responsibly disposed of. By recycling and selling reusable materials, the team also generates revenue for the hospital while ensuring hazardous waste is treated safely before disposal. In addition, a Placenta Pit has been operating for the past three months, making the management of biological waste even more systematic. No waste is burned—every waste stream is treated before leaving the hospital.

From working through the COVID-19 pandemic to helping build a model waste management and training center, Ratna and his team are making Dhulikhel Hospital cleaner, safer, and more sustainable every day.
