Located deep in the heart of Central Otago in the valley of Upper Clutha, Cromwell is a special place not to be missed. From rugged to rolling hills, two great rivers and the sparking pristine waters of Lake Dunstan - the natural beauty of the area is overwhelming. Conveniently situated on the shore of Lake Dunstan; it is an idyllic location for swimming, fishing, boating and water sports in summer. In winter, skifields such as The Remarkables and Cardrona are all within comfortable driving distances. There is no shortage of activities on offer for the whole family. The Cromwell basin is home to a host of w**eries; enjoy the breathtaking landscape while enjoying some the worlds finest Central Otago Pinot Noir. The area also has a rich heritage past with remnants of goldfields that will take you on a journey of the past. Cromwell's central location makes it an excellent base for exploring the wider Central Otago area, allowing for easy day trips to nearby towns such as Queenstown, Arrowtown, Wanaka and Clyde.

Our annual Art Exhibition is on from 10am to 3.30pm Sat 17th October through to Sun 18th Oct at a NEW location, the Bannockburn Coronation Hall, 37 Hall Rd. New spaces, new artworks and new guest artists. Come along and check it out. This is a koha event.

Two big reasons to head to Cromwell this Labour Weekend! 🚲🎆

The Cromwell Street Party & Fireworks is back on Sunday 25th October, and this year it’s extra special!🎉

We’re welcoming the first public riders on the new Southern Lakes Trails Kawarau Gorge Trail as they arrive at the Cromwell Heritage Precinct, before the celebrations roll on into one of Cromwell’s favourite community events.

🎟 Free entry, making this event accessible to all
🚲 First riders welcomed from 3pm
🎶 Main festivities from 4pm
🍔 Great selection of food vendors
🎭 Live entertainment & street performances
🏡 Heritage Precinct retailers
🎆 Fireworks over Lake Dunstan at 8.45pm (weather dependent and as soon as it is dark enough!)

Bring the family, grab your friends and make a day of it!
