Dunedin TimeBank

Dunedin TimeBank Sharing skills, connecting community Our volunteers donate their time to people seeking assistance.

Dunedin TimeBank is a sharing community of volunteers who collaborate with each other and with the wider Dunedin/Ōtepoti community to meet needs for talents, skills, resources, and wellbeing. No debt is established: the recipient is simply encouraged to give back to the community if they are able to. Our member website lets our volunteers list what they are offering and what they would like assist

ance with and in this way members can find people to meet their needs and people needing what they are offering. We regularly post the categories of our current ‘offers’ and ‘requests’ publicly on our social media and members of the public can contact us to connect in with our volunteers and receive assistance, optionally joining Dunedin TimeBank themselves. Though we encourage reciprocity and membership participation to build a network of like-minded volunteers, you do not need to be a member to receive assistance – just send us a message and we’ll do our best to find someone with the right skills to meet your needs. Organisations can also be members and through this they can access a pool of community volunteers. People who already volunteer for organisations may join and get assistance from others within the Dunedin TimeBank community.

🌱 What could one conversation lead to?

A new friendship?
A helping hand?
A volunteer opportunity?
A skill swap?
A fresh idea for your community project?

Our monthly TimeBank Social Catch-Up is where connections happen.

Come along to meet fellow members, share what's happening in your world, hear what others are working on, and discover new ways to participate in our community.

No agenda. No pressure. Just good people, good conversation, and plenty of opportunities to connect.

An opportunity to celebrate, connect, and grow our disabled youth-led movement across Aotearoa is coming up this week!🤩💫

Join I Lead on Friday 17th July at Your Way Kia Roha, Burns House for a day of connection (and free kai!).

Showcase Days provide a welcoming and accessible space to:
- Learn about I.Lead’s kaupapa, programmes, and regional committees
- Hear directly from disabled youth leaders about their experiences and impact
- Explore opportunities to get involved as a member, volunteer, partner, or supporter
- Connect with like-minded young people, organisations, and decision-makers
Come along, meet the community, and see what’s possible when disabled youth lead the way!

Kia ora e hoa mā👋

Have you recently volunteered, helped another member, or completed a TimeBank exchange? If so, don't forget to log your hours on TnT2HourWorld! ⏰💚

Recording your hours helps us celebrate the amazing mahi happening across our community and shows the impact we're making together through sharing skills, knowledge, and support.

Need a hand? No worries! 😊 If you're unsure how to log an exchange, have trouble accessing your account, or simply prefer someone else to do it, your Community Coordinator is always happy to help and can even enter your volunteer hours on your behalf.

Every hour shared is valuable. Every act of manaakitanga strengthens our TimeBank hapori. 🌱

E whakawhetai ana for all that you do!
